I just tried a crumpet for the first time
They're good, really good. But that after taste >.<.

It has a very distinct 'bread' flavour. I guess the best way is sort of like a biscuit with tons of butter.

Tea with crumpets = ok. On their own, might put a couple of people off. Then again, unless something is really crappy, I never feel the need to point it out. Crumpets are in their own category much the same as the croissant or challah bread.
