This weekends project for LG!
Eh, I have a few things to do today, but after that I have planned I'm going to make and release a Gaia Towns Client free of charge. Once I start later today (after I finish what needs to be done.) I'll post a link so everyone can watch as I try to code this thing supa fast :D

What's everyone think? Also, throw some idea's around for the client!

I dunno, I have many hours to work on this. Depends on how much support I get to finish it really. Otherwise I'll get bored..
#4
If you finish it, would you release the source in UGB/UGS

It'll be open source completely, no worries!

I am indeed making it in python.

BTW I'm back ! In case anyone was watching and saw I was gone.
#9
What kinda stuff does everyone want on it? All I will add otherwise is connecting and standing there... -_-

o wat. my initial thoughts when you said you were making a client was that it was going to be a Flash client of some sort. to my dismay, I was mistaken. Would have been sort of cool to see a Flash client of some sort done in pure Python. oh well.

this has been done before also:

https://github.com/G333/Basic-Towns-Bot---gTowns

although it's outdated now but can still be used as groundwork for similar projects.

-

How do you plan on going about this exactly? Do you plan on using a graphical front-end? Or perhaps something like Doc did which was a standard Towns client clone in Qt4/CPP-- https://github.com/azkay/towns

Details would be appreciated

I've done this project several times before as well. For rally's and towns as well as a zOMG client I've done.

Planned on just throwing random shit together honestly. Just to give me something to do. Didn't plan on planning anything lmfao.

EDIT::

If you connect right now to the join.me you'll see that I've got it connected to the server's already just sitting there.

Ah, I see. As have I. Though in Delphi/Object Pascal and AutoIt (probably a couple other languages not particularly worth mentioning as well) as opposed to more concurrent languages like C++.

This is my old Delphi prototype TCP client.

Anyway, I thought I'd recap this as I'm still interested in a few aspects of this project:

In other words, is your project going to be something like the program shown above, or an actual Towns client made in Python and Tcl/Tk or a similar GUI widget library?

If you know Matt, this translates to: "I'm going to wake up, play some cod, watch a movie, eat some food, play some more cod, open up the project, share my screen, navigate to netflix and pretend I'm busy."

lmao. You're probably the only one to know this is very true! I get distracted because I don't have much enthusiasm towards a lot of things.

Anywho, I'm working on it

Lol k, do it then. This is ancient from a dump in which the method was patched. And I made a thread saying I'd give this away if anyone wants it. :D
