I pointed a loaded rifle at a local Afghan national's face for trying to touch one fo my Marines' rifle.
And promptly got yelled at for it.

Man had brain damage, had been deployed four times, and was under emotional and psychological duress. We have soldiers station there but because we're "not at war" they can't do much of any thing to protect themselves from those there that wish to do them harm.

Gaga was just being sarcastic, I know he wasn't being literal.

But yes I do agree that he was unstable, but it was on the part of the Army for not screening him for PTSD or anything like that. Our rules of engagement actually state that we as American military cannot, under any means, retaliate without an equal amount of percieved forced being directed towards us. And I follow the rules. If not you get the death penalty like that guy is going to get.

TL;DR:
American's can't use deadly force without being put in mortal danger or protecting a third party.

Besides, Afghan locals have killed 30 people out here since the quran incident. Like walking up behind a Marine, who was just walking to the shower and shooting him point blank in the back of the head with an assault rifle. Or other things of that sort.

I'm not saying this senseless killing is right, in fact I think it should stop, but its going to keep happening. Until we all pull out at least.
