Alright I suppose how are you? You doing okay out there? I mean as okay as you can be for the situation. D:
I'm doing well, and I'm glad to see that you're over there and good. How long have you been there? Have you had time to settle in?
Heres the rough rundown of everything i can tell you all:
Coffin: the farmers are all out east me of me and we have given jobs to all of the local unemployed populace as construction workers, chow hall workers, portashitter cleaners, general contractors and have set up a few schools for women and girls.
Gran: ive been sitting a post with my rifle watching moondust swirl in the desert.
Ethan: i have missed all of my LG family.
Jah: see above post.
Clover: im ok for the most part. We've had some people running toward the base and shooting rockets at us but we cant shootback until we are certain they will die from it. Ive shot my rifle twice, i hit one guy in the leg and then the british marines shot him with a .50 Fucking brits take all of the fun. But other than that ive been ok.
Thomas: ive been here a few weeks but the base has internet in our cans so its not all bad.
Ive gotten comfortable and settled.
Also some news you wont here on the news: a base has been getting suicide bombed and has been taking small arms and rocket fire. I was there when they brought in the medivac and saw a marine die right in front of me. I dont agree with everything that we do as a military bu all i know is that marines wife will be breaking down anyday now when they send an officer to tell her that her husband is dead. So just remember the media will only show you when we do bad shit like the marines pissing on someone but what they dont show you is alot. Like an 18 yr old wife never seeing her husband again. I know we volunteer to serve and in some ways die, but you can never know what it is like to see someone die from enemy fire.
Ill keep you all posted on the very little that i am allowed to tell you. But i will stay in touch.

Only fools watch the news for information. You're doing your job and doing it well, end of story. The media loves to pretend that all you do is fuck up but any one with half a brain knows you do your job right and that the 1 out of 5000 that do something stupid are getting the attention. The US military is simply the best military in the world and that's not misguided patriotism. You've got the best weapons, utilities, and training. We've sent you into two open ended wars, left yu there to build a state out of nothing, and tied your hands behind your backs and you still did the job.
