Odd.

Earlier it had some domain seized thing replacing the index.
Now the main page is back up, but says.

All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.

They'll all be back.
#5
Mediafire is deleting popular files.

Ffffffffffffffffffffff. Can't download anything on Fileserve.

America is doing it all wrong! Before you know it the Chinese are going to be the ones owning these sort of sites and making bank.

This is going to completely fuck up the Hackintosh and Android dev community. Some really good developers can't afford to host their own files and end up just throwing them up on sharing sites like this. Now ever single Hackintosh and Android roms, tutorials, etc. Which are all completely legal, will be completely fucked up. ALL the download links are broken. Yes, I'm pissed off. My government is going full retard. In addition to what Alex said, small startups and large internet businesses are making well over what the entire entertainment industry makes. There was a graph in an anti-SOPA video, I can't remember which one. If I remember I'll post a link. If the US government can't learn to embrace new business models instead of destroying it's own economic potential then I couldn't be happier to see it fall. Yes that's kind of strong, but lately the US government has done nothing but disappoint and fuck things up. It's sad they can't do something as easy as listening to their own people, and have seemingly forgot that they exist to assist us and that we own them, not big business. What a deadly mistake.

If you torrent and seed, you can get in trouble.
If you download from file hosting sites, the owners get in trouble.

And well done ol' chap @thomas
