Explanation

I haven't been active for a while due to some real life issues.

Yesterday my external hard drive decided to take a shit on me and I'm currently in a frantic battle with it trying to recover a ton of lost files. I only managed to get a way with a few snippets in .txt's. I have lost all of my modules, projects, movies, music, saves, and some really important other important things.

tl;dr: Hard drive crashed, frantic battle, trying to save files, fighting losing battle, real life problems.


What are some free programs that let you recover a hard drive from RAW file type or a method? I don't want to re-format it and I've tried a few things. I want to keep all my files and information if possible. If I can't I'm down 300GB of files.

I don't know about the programs for externals. My problem with mine right now is that it's in Vermont and I kinda need it here in Maine.
