Slash or Nuno Bettencourt?

Slash is the best guitarist, but Nuno is far better at speedplaying.
And he's trained in classical guitar his whole life.

So Slash has my vote, but Nuno is so close a 2nd it hurts.
What's your opinion?

He has a boner each time he listens/reads/sees Slash.

Is he a better speed player? I point you to the end of "Paradise City" where Slash turns on the afterburn and flips the fuck out.
Speed is in the end meaningless the ability to throw all the notes at someone is cool but I think its more musically relevant to pick some and play them well.

I was thinking more of the solo in "Play with Me" by Extreme. Nuno went nuts mixing speed with classical guitar, and he did very well.
You do make a good point though, I wasn't even thinking of the end of Paradise City. Slash is incredibly intense as far as speed goes, but Nuno does it...almost all the time.
But as far as performance goes and doing it as well as slash, I agree.

"Play With Me" is neoclassical music, Slash doesn't play neoclassical. I don't know that they can be compared. Malmsteen is by far the best neoclassical player next to Rhandy Rhoads in my book.
