What the fuck did I just watch?

He's second greatest director of all time because the dude that directed the Godfather is the first. Spirited Away is the Citizen Kane of anime.

Yes they do explain. Pay attention dude. Things are a little confusing at first but a ton of back story comes in and shit after things get rolling. Some of it is subtle stuff and you actually need to pay close attention and follow along.

It confused me the first time, the second time I paid more attention to what was being said and it explained it all.

Try Princess Mononoke, Porco Rosso, Ponyo, My Neighbor Totoro, Whisper Of The Heart, Castle In The Sky, Nassica Of The Vally Of The Wind, Howel's Moving Castle, Kiki's delivery service, Lupin the 3rd, and Pom Poko. All by the same guy. Some are much easier to follow. I'd also try out Steamboy and Metropolis and Ninja Scroll

Of course its all drawn by hand

Just a personal recommendation, I liked "Grave of the Fireflies." It's a good movie in my opinion
