Graphics Team?

Graphics Team?
The staff is throwing around ideas for graphics, and we wanted some nice imput. Basically, we want anyone, with some kinda of graphics making ability to send Google, myself, or one of the other mods samples of their art.

The best will make a good case for the graphics team to be reborn. So if you want to see some teams, make some graphics and send them to the moderators, and we will have some ammo to protest to get the teams back.

Honestly, we don't really need a graphics team at all. The last graphics team got into the team and did nothing but make a few simple signatures. If there is going to be a graphics team they need to work on themes for this site.

Themes, and graphical updates would be the main focus of the team if we restarted it. but then we do need simple graphics artists for signatures and beautificational purposes.

You should host a contest for the people that can make there own themes. Make something simple yet have it look really nice. It must be there's and they must provide proof. As for the simple graphics artists there is no need for them to be on the team.

The graphics team should have a good root with the users also.
Their artwork shouldn't be limited to signatures. I would like to see members with a larger portfolio such as desktops and art comissions. We can't just throw in whoever is just good at photoshop in the team.

Also, bring back a writing team. Probably the only damn team I would be able to get on. ) :<

The problem with themes is that it not only requires good graphic abilities, but CSS coding knowledge as well. It doesn't seem like a good identifier unless you're looking for simply the layout rather than the code.

And what type of art are you looking for?

There is no real reason for a writing team.
No, the graphics team should not be limited to signatures because than there is no point for them.
#8
I'd volunteer but I've never done graphics like lay outs and such so I don't think I'd be very useful.
#9
But I would like a writing team.
And the art that I would appreciate would be any kind of art that isn't ripped. Hell, draw a gian banana terrorizing a village. As long as it's good art, the subject could be anything.

On the topic of a writing team (which I myself brought up), maybe we don't need one.
Maybe we need a coding team.
Not programming, which we have enough of.
But people who specialize in web design, people who could help with the graphics team on themes.
People with knowledge in:
CSS
HTML
XHTML
and PHP.
Just saying.

Let's all just overlook my question ._.

Graphics team would need to be moderated as to their workload in order to be an effective and worthwhile team. Sadly, it's going to go just like Eric's social engineering group is going, nowhere at all.
#12
That's why we have moderators, for certain places.
The graphics team could have it's own place, own forum.
Then a moderator could be assigned who is normally on.
When a user requests a graphic, a Graphics team member could be assigned to it.
Not that they would be our monkies. Requests would be sifted through the moderator.
When the moderator couldn't be reached, a second in command would be there.
It could be simple.

But what benefit would a Graphics Team have? They simply do requests for the users? Don't normal members do that for people anyway? Trading their skills for some sort of income/doing it for free?

We are making progress. We just want to make sure that we have everything perfect.

Ah I see, have you guys made that insane amount of money that was predicted to be gained from this venture yet? O:

Ah I see. Well good luck to you guys :) Surely you guys could make it to the final stage before the year's up right?

Well, for one, the Graphics teams would earn respect from the members.
When we had a graphics team, we looked to them as great members. Hell, one became a moderator.
We were all shocked when we discovered Tsuna was a fake.

Second, the team could earn currency from their endeavors from moderators and any users that payed them.
This team would bring more members, as it would show that LogicalGamers isn't just for gamers. A huge slew of people would come in, posting graphics, rating, and being supportive for the artists.

Third, they would be more likely to receive promotions when positions opened. This would apply to the graphics members who stayed active, who worked with the site and its members. They would have contributed more than most people here, so they earned it anyways.

There are alot of advantages to being someone who works with the site.

We don't need site programmers either. What's there to really program on a site that pretty much comes ready to use? Every piece of shit you guys have made crashes and turns into another unfinished half assed project to try and regain strength in our community.

Ok. Let's stick with that for now.

The graphics team was always useless, and when they weren't, they were just being used as people's bitches. Why the hell bring them back now? I agree with Chad on the contest idea, any other idea sucks...
#22
WOw, thats all very constructive to the idea i had!

Whats the idea?
#24
Well, here's some 'imput' The graphics team is a useless team to have, all it is is a title.
If somebody wants to create a design for the site let them, don't make a big group out of it, not needed at all. And if we did make a graphics team it wouldn't make anything any better.
Work on other obvious problems with the site before you dick around with something as petty as a graphics team.

Good thing CSS & HTML are easy languages.

As I have gathered, that graphics team would be used primarily for signatures. Not much more. So its kinda useless in my opinion.

Work on them. They want a team of experienced Graphic Designers.

You don't need to know PHP to do web design (Primarily), usually it is just html and css...

Design Team instead of Graphics team?

Writing team is unnecessary.

I think more of a 'design team' could be more beneficial. Not a GFX team which makes siggys. But a team that can make graphics and have a basic knowledge of HTML & CSS. So then arti doesn't have to singlehandedly make all the updates to the site.

Then LG would have another moderator. The LG Admins don't want many Mod's. :l

I understand where your going. I am just stating that fact.

Well would it be such a bad thing to give those members that do graphics, a rank?

It seems logical for their work on LG, that they should get a rank.

The benefit is having a team of Graphic Artists. Not just a bunch of random GFX artists in the Graphics Section.

I think that the GFX team should moderate the Graphics Section as well. Since it is there area of expertise.

This will increase activity for the GFX community.

1) Agreed
2) We could have a chart, like a sig from the GFX team costs $3 or 90K LG, etc...
3) Well those who contribute 'Good' GFX work should be able to get a rank for doing so. Simple as that.

This is a 'Hacking' Board. What are we without programmers.

Programmers make a lot of exploits, logins, hacks, bots, etc.

Take that away and LG will have nothing.

I think, the GFX Team should be given a trial period. If Arti is disappointed about his decision, lets say 6 months from now, then he can delete it. But at least we have a team of graphic artists.

If they want to get paid they take the job, otherwise you won't get paid... You meet someone bitchy, put up with them and take their money. Its only the internet.

I am saying it that way because I was always nice to the GFX members and don't remember how other people treated them.

Whats the problem with giving those who contribute, a title?

Sometimes you need more than two eye's to improve upon your coding skills. You need someone else to take a look and help you. Thats what the Design Team would offer.

What are the serious problems?

Inactivity? (Being the main problem)
This rank would only boost the amount of GFX Members on the site.

Stop trying to control what happens here.

By GFX Members Eternal, do you mean People who can go Google a tutorial, follow it, create the same image, release it as there own?

They can do that. Why not?

The smarter members would do it themselves. Not pay someone to do it.

And not all GFX artists do that.

Have you ever been to any other hacking website? Half of them don't have 'Programming teams' they just have helpful members who continue to contribute helpful programs just for the hell of it. It's like this on LG: "Oh, i don't have a fancy name, im not going to do fucking shit for anyone until i get a title that makes me look like im in charge..."

No one really gives a shit about any of you dumb fucks, or your programs.. The only person to continually release helpful and great programs is Brandon and all you fucks do is pick on him. I haven't seen Chad release anything worth while, ever. I don't think i've EVER seen you release anything period.

I laughed, Really hard. I've only seen Eternal Release one thing and I've talked with him about not releasing stuff along with Sk8er and some others. It's because you all bitch to much. Much like you're doing now.

So, you've talked about NOT releasing anything because people bitch? Why do you think people bitch? Because you don't do SHIT.
You just made yourself look like a total fuck, by the way.

Expect criticism when releasing shit, don't expect everyone to go GOOGOOGAGA over all your shit programs.

Your "Not Releasing" rally is just helping propel LG into the fiery pits of lost websites.

I know I made my self look like a total fuck. That was the point. Only if you guys should see Lg 3.0 Programs. Your kind of constant attitude is why we don't want to code shit. Not just you, but people that act like you.

It's okay, i've moved many old members who couldn't handle dumb fucks like you to a much better, older, well put together forum. We're perfectly happy there.

The lack of trolling and shit talking there fuels my need to come here and troll.

If we give a title to everybody who contributes it will give the site the image of 'I can be a special member if I contribute a drawing'.
I see what you want to do, you want to have a team to help make images and such for the site, but we do not need a whole title to go along with 'I make drawings for the site'. The graphics team was practically useless before, with less members it will be EVEN MORE USELESS.
And stop trying to control what happens? God, fuck off, this thread was made for people to say what they think about the idea, I gave my two cents. Sorry it isn't exactly concurrent with what you think.
