I know right? A gay person at church! I'm surprised the 'holy spirit' didn't reveal to them that I was gay! Anyways, some girl was like, "Before I got to know you, I actually thought you were gay."

So no. Gays are not accepted by churches. Maybe the meditational churches, but not normal ones. Only the church's imaginary friend accepts gays.

Catholic church accepts gays. You're allowed to be gay, you don't go to hell for it, you can be a priest, totally accepted aside from marriage which the church holds as a covenant that requires a man and a women for only then can it mirror the relationship between God and the Church.

Old Testament is consider a sort of religious story book with lessons and record of thing that were and God's love and such, not verbatim truth and law. The New Testament is a bit more true and accurate in the eyes of most church but still not an exact account.

Matthew 5:17. Jesus says:

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Meaning true Christians can't ignore the laws of the old testament.

Yeah, well they tell the rest of us not to have sex before we're married too but it don't work so well and I have a hard time believing the human race as a whole is just going to hell. Also he did say you could be gay.

Christ also lays down the law: "Love God and love each other".
Then later on in Acts the Holy Spirit and the Apostles decide the gentiles(non jews) can join Christianity and not follow the Old Testament laws cause they aren't jewish and those laws no longer apply to the Church. So unless Frost is a Jew in both religion and creed from way back then, I think we're good.

Therein lies the contradictory nature of the Bible. The whole thing is a hoax anyways. Christians assume the Bible is the word of God. There were hundreds (edit: actually, I've read estimates of over 100+) of Gospels vieing for a position in the New Testament, supposedly all aided by the 'hand of God', and yet many preaching different values (i.e. gnostic Christianity). In the end it was the Church who decided what Gospels were selected, and the Church who ordered the rest destroyed for heresy. The same Catholic church that in recent times has come under enormous scrutiny has directly shaped the lives of so many, and yet most Christians are still ignorant of this fact.

The gospels are the "word of God" only in the sense that we believe that they teach what God would want taught. We took the Old Testament and slapped several of the most agreeable and older text we had and said Bible. There is very little in the New Testament that lend the Church any real power aside from maybe Acts which it more there to serve as history of the Church. Revelation is just code for the Mass under the guise of a story in which good wins out over evil which further encourages faith in an otherwise troubled time.
The Bible has conflict only based on the inconsistency between Old and New and how its interpreted. We started out with one, then we had two due to a King wanting a divorce and from there you had the Protestant revolution which starts with a man saying he should have to do good just believe in God and point out some corruption and he doesn't even want to leave the Church or start any thing, just fix the corruption.
The scrutiny comes from scandals and a desire to question power and inconsistency and science vs faith and jealousy but the Church is far from perfect, made and run by men. Its corruptible. Its been corrupt and recovered before, there is no reason for it not to recover again. The Church for the most part and in theory and principle is good and teaches morals and love for your fellow man. Its should be allowed to influence and shape lives. In the end who care if there was a Jesus or if the Church is right about the facts, if it promotes decency and morality and love and caring about something greater than yourself and teaches responsibility and accountability and thus improves the world by some small faction it ought to be allowed its doing more than any thing else.

It's just an advanced form of manipulative control. Nowadays, it preys on people's fears in an effort to deliver morality. I honestly think many people have misconceived the true intentions of the Church (atleast the Church that existed hundreds of years ago). The Church was the uppermost form of power; in fact, via being the direct link between the people and God even had Kings kneeling, metaphorically speaking. The Church was (and still is) corrupt, there are many texts that support this view. Like any form of corrupt authorative body, it did what it had to to stay in power.

Frankly, I don't know what so many people are prepared to put their faith in Chiristianity; the old testament is shocking. It is horribly scientifically inaccurate, incredibly sexist, preaches racism, almost every form of discrimination and violence. I agree but disagree. In the end all interaction is manipulation, even what we're doing now. When the Church rose to power it became corrupt, because there was power to be had and deals made to get it but the Church has also lost most of its power. I mean in the end it really has no power now just the respect that tradition affords it, less than half of Christians bother to go to church or really ever find out anything about their faith. The number of believers is in decline. I believe whole heatedly the original formation and message of the Church was good and that it survives in some form in the Church today. Priest and Bishops are often true and sincere in their belief and teachings. I like to think the Pope, well the last one any way, was upholding the ideals the Church is supposed to represent.
The Old Testament is far from shocking. If any thing its mundane and an accurate description of man. What in there surprises you? What in there is any different from today? Up date it and ignore the God part and its just what humans have been doing for all of our existence. There are far worse things happening today than in the Old Testament and there are religions with worse texts and worse teachings and even worse pasts.
An the Church isn't even as secretive about things as its accused of being with grand conspiracy and such, the Mormons for instance are far more secretive about everything they are, do and believe than any other faith I can think of that isn't a cult.
