I got my permit at 15 1/2 to the day.
Took the classes way earlier.
And then you have to have your permit (validated) for 6 months after your first behind the wheel training. Then you can test for your license.
Depending on the area you're in, you might be able to use rightway driving school or brentwood driving school.

I pretty sure it was 15 1/2, But I dont care Im for sure getting mine this summer..
Oh and inorder to get it, I think you have to like take driver's ed and stuff.

Idk know about California, but here in TN you only need to be 15 to get permit and 16 to get restricted license. (Driving test for liscense is just for left/right turns
