Add it to your favorites, after weeks of working on the VPS changing settings, moving things, redownload, reformating etc etc etc, iv gotten it trk!

Ill try to scavenge up some time to code a custom gamemode and make a custom map. But it prob wont be complete for a few weeks. So sandbox and flatgrass works for now

Uhm, use the SVN? ill post the batch file to use that i made. So you dont have to use that software for it

Download the batch file and extract everything in ther to your garrysmod addons folder then run svn_updater that will be in your addons folder, it will install all the latest SVNs.

Mk, tomorrow, arti said he will pay for the extra ram and extra space on the VPS then once our host gets that set up i will put a TF2 server on it, but it is going up.

I didn't think it would take that much RAM/space/etc. to run it. But oh well. Woo, it's goin' up!

Its going to take about 4-5gigs to run. And its going to need more ram to run both servers at the same time. The gmod server already lags slightly.

Hopefully arti pays that tonight so that tomorrow i can set it up, (assuming our host gives us our stuff tonight also)

I know it takes a lot. I just figured a web server already had such specs.
I'm runnin' on a server with 8 i7 processors. The RAM is only ~10gb though.

Does it really take 5gb to run a dedicated server? I figured it would take a lot less than that. I don't even have that much on my laptop, and I can play it at max settings. I figured a server would use less RAM, since it doesn't actually render the graphics and what-not.

Also, how would one set up a server like this? I can understand doing it on a local machine that you can just open Steam and all. Is it possible to do it on a server remotely? e.g. uploading the EXEs and doing wtfever to make it work? I've never tried, but I might if it's possible to do without having to get their server administrators to do any of it for me.

srcds.com doesn't seem to say anything about running it via a web server. Why is srcds better than the Dedicated Servers that come with Steam?

srcds, is Source Dedicated Server. In this method though, you use less ram, easier to change settings, less likely to crash, more games available, etc etc etc. Its basically a console mode of the Tool in steam that works without having steam.
