Atari landfill to be excavated

Anyone heard about this?

I am interested in how the documentary turns out, and especially in how valuable the landfill ends up being.

I don't think it's going to be of much value. When it comes down to it, it's still just a pile of shitty Atari 2600 games that aren't incredibly rare, since I have a cartridge of E.T. and Pac-Man, and there's around 2 million or so in the landfill.

Of course they wouldn't be valuable singley. A collector may want to buy them in mass though. Those are _the_ famous games that got landfilled.

Also, it's not just games. There is supposedly Atari prototype hardware buried too, which would be very valuable to collectors if it's not destroyed.

The potential in salvage alone makes it worth something. Even if prototypes x,y,z are busted together they might have enough parts to be restored.
