Anyone have unusuals?
I personally always sell the ones I come across. I hate unusuals. But they are popular. Anyone here like to collect them? Or invest in a dream hat for personal use?

I've had countless that I've gone through over the years. It started when I unboxed a burning defiant spartan from the free Christmas key giveaway Valve did for the first Christmas TF2 promotion.

I'm never lucky enough to unbox anything with my free/traded keys, nor do i have the money to buy keys.
Unusuals, so far... yet so close. ;-;

They aren't worth unboxing. Only reason I uncrated it myself was because the key and crate were free. The non-event crates aren't worth opening. And even most event crates aren't. You're more likely to lose value in doing so than gain value by getting an unusual.

I don't really care for some extra pixels. xD

But it'd be nice to have some cancer one, just for show.

I know a guy who has about 3-4 unusuals. He's quite the TF2 tryhard.
He buys a lot of keys and opens like 40-50 crates at once.
Here's one of his videos: The Massive Uncrating From Hell - 416 Crates - YouTube
He did 400 crates in this one...

He is an idiot then. The ratio of the average value of an unusual to the value of the number of TF2 keys on average it takes to get an unusual (100) is sooooo low. Gambling is for idiots.

I just buy them whenever someone happens to be selling them for below-value so that I can just flip it for profit. It's a slow business, but being willing to wait longer to find a buyer gets you profit.

I'm pretty sure he did the uncrating mostly for popularity reasons or whatnot.

Eh, you can call him an idiot but he won't care. He just likes to spend money on the game. He currently has 40 pairs of earbuds that he's gonna let sit for a year so they go up in price.

Wrong. I know this guy, he's a good guy. He just likes to spend money on the game. He hosted the event for our clan and in hopes of recruiting new members for the TF2 division.
