Thoughts on OUYA?

So what are your thoughts on the new upcoming OUYA Console ?

I think it's going to be awesome. Already have a console reserved from the Kickstart.

I forget, is the SDK for OUYA going to be free?

Got a console reserved, kinda regretting it but whatever, it's cash I long forgot about.

Aren't they planning to sell at gamestop or something?

They haven't announced anything like that yet. If it does happen, it probably won't be until it gains popularity (it hasn't even been released yet!).

I'm not going to pre-order one or anything. If it ends up a complete flop, then everyone who had one will be screwed, it's going to be like the old SEGA consoles haha.

That reminds me of some recent console...

I can't remember the name, but it died a while back.

The logo was orange, I think xD
and you just downloaded games, you couldn't buy at retail

Well, Ouya was a Kickstarter. In my case, I just donated to their cause because I wanted to see an open platform for the TV, especially since it is Android based. I just happen to donate enough to get a console for free. XD

If it flops it won't matter. Android is open so you will just be able to hack it anyway

Torian is right. I'm sure there will be many interesting things coming from independent developers. That's the best part of open platforms.

Also, Ouya sent out an email yesterday officially stating that Ouya will be sold at Amazon.com, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target.

Yeah so I read, I want to get myself the Ouya since its hackable and will have Minecraft
