Favorite SNES games?
I recently dug out my SNES (its been buried in my basement for ages lol) and went through my old games. I set aside my absolute favorites and I'm planning on replaying them this week. out of the 8 games I have my absolute favorite SNES games are Illusion of Gaia, Earthbound, and Secret of Evermore. XD I dont think I'd ever get sick of playing them. Any of you guys have favorite SNES games? I'd love to try more if you guys can recommend some. I may just download a SNES emulator and download them since I've gotten re-hooked on the old games (The cartridges are just too hard to find and probably pricey^^' )
Nice tastes.
You would also like Chrono Trigger. It is pricey and hard to find, but holy shit it is easily the best game ever made.
Then obviously the Nintendo classics, like Super Mario World, Link to the Past, Super Metroid, etc. You can pick up F-Zero for $8 sealed on eBay. IDK what other games they have still sealed, but I thought that was a good deal. But given there are sequels that are better (e.g. F-Zero GX), maybe not worth getting compared to the other games.
Super Metroid is also one of my favorite games. IDK if someone who isn't already a fan of the Metroid series would like it, since it's a particularly different genre [exploratory].[/exploratory]
IDK if F-Zero is as good for SNES. CT and Super Metroid are classics, and they will always be some of the greatest games. F-Zero is kinda like Tony Hawk in the sense that once a sequel comes out, there is no reason to play the previous games in the series. F-Zero for SNES just feels dated, as it doesn't offer anything that the sequels don't (e.g. Super Metroid has a different story, world, etc. that sequel Metroids don't have). But at the same time F-Zero was great for its generation, and is way cheaper than Super Metroid or Chrono Trigger would be.
Don't believe I forgot Mega Man X, but good you have it anyway.
You might also want to pick up a Super GameBoy (physical copy), and then play some olde school GameBoy games on the big screen with custom color palettes and borders.
Donkey Kong Country (all of them) is great, too. Entire series is golden to all the senses.
Super Mario RPG is good. Another expensive one. I've never been enthralled enough to finish it, but I've heard nothing but good things from people who have.
I would definitely have to go with the class Super Mario World, it was just an amazing game I played in my childhood, and kinda still do.
