This just might be crazy enough to work!

(It's not a tutorial, but more of a undiscovering. I'll get to the point of Gaia soon enough, so don't infract me please.)

Last night, at around 1:47am, in an attempt to root my mytouch 3g, I stumbled across an idea.

I asked myself, "What if I could use my phone as a wireless modem without voiding my warantee?" So thanks to the existence of Google, and the late nite block on Nick, I discovered PdaNet. (I'm sure most probably know about it, and I'm a late bird joining the flock.) But I found out I can bridge my 3g internet on my phone, and use it for free on my PC. And while in the process, I said "I wonder if this is Gaia compatible.

To get to the point, if your phone has a seperate IP from your computer, and it's bridging itself, basically bringing everything "there" - "here", can't this method be used as a proxy? Or a Dial-Up method?

I mean, I've been through 8 hacked accounts today and nothing has happened. "So far".

As a proxy? Sure I don't see why not.
But wouldn't it be easier to just use www.proxy.org?

Just use a prxoy for hacking

Did you already proved that your phone has a different IP?
Can you use the trade option?

Yes, because it's bridging my 3g connection, meaning that it's basically duplicating what's on my phone.

The thing is, I don't have a 3g phone. xD
So, does this works only for 3g phones and here's my current phone.

@OP: In all seriousness, why not use tor? This seems like a lot of extra work.

This seems like way too much work.

as i said before there is no point just get a wifi router but you will still have the same IP
so even then it would fail
and jailbreaking your phone

You never stated that there is no point ever in this thread.
Getting a wifi router gives you a different IP.

no it doesnt im using a router right now

i have the same ip

on all 5 of my computers all IPs are the same

When I connect to my router via Wifi, I get a new IP, you must be doing it wrong.

Are you disconnecting and reconnecting? Because then you;d be refreshing the IP...Besides, when connecting to a router, all the connections go to the same place: the router. The router is plugged in and connected to your ISP. Only one way out, using the same connection for all the computers. I see no way your IP changes.
