Why would you ask the creator? It's old as fuck and if he released it once you can release it again, not like it matters.

It's common programming courtesy to not distribute property that you do not own, intellectual or otherwise. That's like saying "I borrow this game 3 years ago but he never asked for it back, here you can borrow it".
Probably doesn't matter, but it's common courtesy not to. Logical gaia already has a dumpster dive portion though so not sure if a program is really needed for it.

I don't know, to me it's like "My friend let me borrow this CD and I burned a copy of it, do you want it?" I guess I just don't see a problem with it, oh well

Common courtesy, showing of respect, and legal rights as the creator. It wouldn't work because of the login shit that has happened in the last 2 years. I was pretty shocked it worked.

This reminds me. I need to upgrade my Dumpster Dive bot to automatically dive after five minutes instead of just on page load.

The thing about bots is that they do the same thing over and over and over. That's how you detect them. If they haven't detected me doing the same thing over and over for a week now, they aren't going to, because they apparently don't have a detection system in place.
That is, unless you connect faster than every 5 seconds in my experience, in which case it refuses to respond.

They do have a bot detection system though o:
Gaia's systems don't check for repeated actions, as with thousands of players playing an idiots who sit at their computer playing Gaia's games 24/7, it gets too many innocents banned. Gaia's systems check for time. If you do an action every five seconds on the dot, they're going to get suspicious, and start getting "bot warnings" popping up in their Mod CP. Maybe right now they don't have a system up for slots, but they have stat tracking software and when they see the large increase in play time and winnings that we're making (It's not too much yet with only like 5 users doing it, but if more start there will be a guaranteed increase) they're going to implement one. They use time-based bot detection in most of the Gaia games, and for site activities like refreshing and posting and stuff. That's why most people make bots with random delays between 2 and 10 seconds or minutes away from the fastest time, depending on the action you're doing.
No point on releasing it if there's a better on out there. (Logical Gaia)
If it's open source, it's always a great learning resource for new developers.
