A really decent scam idea+questions.

I've recently thought of something that would seem extremely legit and could probably reel in a ton of cash...
I've heard about FLP/FMPs and such lately, don't know much about them myself (Hate JS, and I cba to learn more php), but if a team could be put together, this could work out decently.

First of all, could someone tell me what FLPs/FMPs are?
I only see guides on how to write them.
Seem to just be using a js popup box posing as some sort of "login" box, and just distribute them and hope people are as stupid as they look?

FLPs are fake login pages. Basically, it looks like a Gaia page, but it isn't and when they try to log in the info is sent to you

Specifically legit cash, but I'm just here to provide answers.

Basically, it looks like a trade page where all you have to do is enter your password for an incredibly good trade, or enter your password to buy an item at a severely lower price. They aren't just "spread" as often, you usually actually get to know the person, then spring up the offer, or you find somebody from the marketplace and PM them.

a FMP is something like
an angelic halo selling for 10k
they enter their password to attept to buy it
and you get the acc

Well, it involves the use of a Fake Login Page generated through JS.
The scam would basically be sending out PMs to somebody with a decent number of friends, preferebly rich friends. Doesn't matter how nooby the target is. We would pull something like "zOMG 3.0", make a decent legit looking banner, with some stupid thing like "Lanzer Approves!" with Lanzer's avvie in the bottom right, something that looks legit. Have the banner say "Click the image to join the beta for zOMG 3.0!". Once somebody actually fills out the pop up form, we confiscate the account. Then repeat the same to their friends, but this time, we have something like "Your friend _____ has invited you to join him/her in the zOMG beta 3.0! Think we're lying? PM them!" (We'll hyperlink it a ready to send PM form). If they actually do PM them, we have the account to respond with something like "Yeh man, this is so much fun!!!"

Or something of that sort. Of course with that, we'd target zOMG players in the zOMG forum. We could d the same with Gaia IM 2.0, Gaia Towns 3.0, some stupid new thing like "GaiaSpace" (Myspace Ripoff), etc.

You get the gist, I hope.

Especially with someone somewhat decent with GFX, it could be chained quite far.

Definitely, if you get that working not only could you make some sweet little GaiaGold from using it yourself, you could also sell it here.

I might just use this as motivation to get myself to improve my knowledge in PHP and to actually learn something about javascript for once.

Though what is the best/most popular way to store the information entered in the FLP?

Edit: Another good idea.
To make it look more legit, we could as the user to enter their user ID instead of username, to make it seem like they won't get scanned.
Then we'll have to show them how to get their user ID, I'll probably just make some sort of image with an arrow pointing to the ID in the url.

If anyone is interested in forming some sort of team, help would be appreciated. If not help, maybe assistance as to where to get started with actually creating FLPs and understanding them, rather than using someone elses script hosted somewhere else like in the "tutorials" on this forum.

I actually like this idea. But not the "Think we're lying?" part. A little suspicious. If someone would code it, I would make the banner.

If not the "Think we're lying" part, it could be like "Click here to send a thank you PM to __________!"

I'll probably start studying FLPs and such after this week.
How is the information usually stored?

I mean, kids these days wouldn't imagine a popup box being made by anyone.

Honestly depends what our target demographic is.

the Real Gaian Mob doesn't declare who they are on gaia. Clearly for very obvious reasons.
So in other words, that guild isnt them.
I thought a big gaian community like LG would know of their existence.

this could get you banned from gaia. that and all link postings are banned you post a non gaia link you get banned. happened to my friend today. blah.
