So... my friend gave me his password to his account a long time ago..

I wonder if he remembers if he gave it to me?
Recently I logged on to see he hasn't logged in since maybe March?
I check from time to time to see if he goes inactive.. and it did eventually.
And sitting in his inventory was the item I envied most and wanted since I joined in '05 but could never get. Demon horns. Ffuuuu.

So. I changed his email and password, sold some of his inventory stuff (cheap crap) via market place and then had enough to change his username. Soon enough I was random gifting to his friends and random usernames (deleting them afterwards + ignore. including journal entries and guilds he was in). Selling everything else via MP got me 575k. I registered a NEW account, put his original username, pass AND email. Waited a while.
I got greedy so I sent some anon gifts to one of my mules and let it sit in my inventory, then split the 575k to two different mules, and then into ONE of them.
Waited more.
Sent more anon gifts to the mule who has the demon horns, etc etc and anything else valuable.

all using different proxies/ips, etc etc.

This isn't considered as "hacking" is it? Would it be more considered as like, a "scam"?

No, scamming someone involves decieving them, as in leading them to believe they'd profit from something you suggest, but the outcome being the exact opposite.
(As in you stealing the item after they trade it to you.)

Anyone who gives out their login info deserves to have their stuff taken.
If they find out you could tell them that hackings are very common on the site and it happened to you as well. But by the sound of it, i'm doubting they'll even care that much.

That makes sense. Though since I got this far, I have no idea what to do now. I guess I should wait it out a few weeks to a month?
I don't know if I can end up trading the valuables to my main, after all, it was my very first and it cost a lot. All legit, of course.

You don't really need to cover your trail or wait it out unless it's an active account. If that were the case you would have trry about the account owner reporting you.
You changed his email, and username, so there's nothing to link him to the account in case he ever becomes curious as to what happened, so you're basically in the clear.

Really? It's more like teaching him a lesson not to trust anyone.
If anything were to happen anyway and I get caught, I'll return all his stuff and pay for the stuff I sold from his inventory with the gold from my legit account.
