February Giveaways

To begin our monthly giveaways, we'll be experimenting with various categories, incentives, and objectives. Feedback for what you would like to see in the future is welcome!


This month, the categories are as follows:

Member of the Month: Get the most referrals this month.[sup]1[/sup]
Reward: 300 LGG, the MotM (Feb. '13) user title[sup]2[/sup], and a purple username

Top Poster: Make the most posts this month.
Reward: 300 LGG

Beep Boop: Make the best bots this month.[sup]3[/sup]
Reward: 250 LGG

Top Poster (Junkyard): Make the most posts in the Junkyard forum this month.
Reward: 150 LGG

Big Spender: Spend the most LGG this month.
Reward: 100 LGG

Top Earner: Receive the most LGG through donations this month.
Reward: 100 LGG

Most Smartest: Make the most accepted suggestions in the Suggestions forum this month.
Reward: 50 LGG

Forum of the Month: Dota 2, LGG Multiplier: 200%
Top Poster (Dota 2): Make the most posts in the Dota 2 forum this month.
Reward: 100 LGG, a bonus Dota 2 invite to share with a friend



All awards will come with a forum badge that will display the award and date awarded in your postbit, giving you official bragging rights over normal members, or as you can call them, "normies."


1. Referrals cannot be mined by just creating dummy accounts with your username as the referrer. A custom algorithm will be used to determine the legitimacy of the newly registered user before its referral is counted towards a member, such as a minimum post count and IP checks. Seeing as how dummy accounts take up unnecessary amounts of database space, creating them to game the giveaway will be a punishable offense, so please refrain from doing so.

2. The Member of the Month user title will not be given out every month. It will be a rare and prestigious title reserved for members who put forth commendable efforts across a month which marks a special occasion for LG -- in this case, the first giveaway month and the revival of the site. Get it while it's available.

3. The community will be polled for which bots they liked. The value of the bot will equal the number of votes it receives. The member with the highest cumulative value for his or her bots receives the reward.

Prize alternatives may be offered, depending on what comes up over the month. The prizes listed will always be available, but if you would prefer one of the acquired alternatives, you will be free to swap.

It's not a special link. There is a textbox when you register that asks what member told you about the website. I've added a red-text notice next to it to really make sure new users see it. The award aside, I think it's important a referrer is given if applicable, because any user who gets a referral will get bonus LGG for every post the referred user makes.

So just tell them your username when you share it. I might make a plugin that will be take a link like forum.logicalgamers.com/?referrer=Stapled and automatically apply that username to the referral field at registration.

Most people will leave it blank so they won't have to type as much :/.

That's why I put the text that is both large and red next to it. I think I even said please.
