Adding Reputation Back With Restrictions!

I think we Need to add back the reputation system. With some restrictions like

♥-Only people with 100+ post can rep

♥-you can rep 1-2 Times a Day

♥-you can only rep the same person 5 times MAX

♥-people with -100 post can be repped, but can not Send out Positive Or Negitive Rep

Rep was a abused system from 1.0 people whore for rep and can spam their way to get that power. there is a good reason why there no rep right now.

Yeah rep was pretty jacked up.
We tried it out multiple times and it was a failure every single time.

Just face it, rep will not come back. And if it does, it will be super strict.

Rep wasn't as bad as you guys make it sound. Sure it was rep whored but it was obvious who was doing the whoring from the start. Just add a few checks to the system that checks to ensure that people aren't abusing the system and it'll be fine. There's no reason why rep works on so many other forums when it doesn't here, what you guys are indicating is that LG is full of retards that don't know how to internet.

It was also a mental prod for members to post things worthwhile. People would actively search for glitches just for that bonus +5 rep. On the flipside, people would put "+rep me please" for the silliest posts.

I hate it when people say "+Rep me Please", but when they do that, they normally get derepped. So that wouldn't really be a problem.

Wow, look at how hackforums did it.
They let ONLY priveleged members give rep so the 100 post thing won't work cuz people can spam their way there. +5 rep max? That's not good enough to get rep back for, and yeah.
Just give it to high undergound members like Gold Underground and Mods

But that would stick a select few members on the pedestal. Remember when people like Riddle joined? He got well deserved rep within his first few posts, if we limit reputation to people that's already reached the top, how will the bottom feeders gain their reputation?

Ya The Rep system was abused "BADLY" so its a bad idea to revive it.

Well why not have it so only mods/smods/admins can give someone rep. It'd be easier to manage seeing as how if an admin sees a mod using favoritism as a reason to +rep/-rep someone, they get that privilege removed.

i like the idea about mods and maybe the ug with 1000+post for ug hand picked by mod's to give reputation

If one was to study LG's history, they'd see that the average post per day dropped drastically, whole sections became inactive and people were more reluctant to release things they found/actually go out and find things. There just isn't any incentive to do these things.

As has been stated in another post, we do not see rep coming back anytime soon. But, we are currently looking for other alternatives.
