Rep is what you get for being a good contributing member. Thanks is what you get for a helpful post that isn't an amazing addition, so its a step down from rep, and feedback is solely for trading purposes. Convoluted, incredibly, but it works out some how.

Where does it say that I can't thank a member for being a good contributor. Not only that thanks are not counted seperatly they are added to reputation. Which leaves me to believe you are making this up as you go.

Thanks and rep is supposed to be seperate. I'm not sure why they are going together.

I don't really see the point of the Thanks button, due to... why?

Sorry but I'm with Defy on this one. People can post thank you just as easy as press that button, and it'll bump their thread to the top. See, even better.

Thanks button just clutters it...
