I'm basically in the same camp, though I gave up on the show. I tried to watch whatever was after 5Ds but couldn't and Idon't care for the one before 5Ds after. The stuff with the classic cast was more my speed. Less whimsical, like the original manga where Yami murdered people.
I play 40k so I'm at a comic shop, between games I'll play Yugioh to kill time. I basically buy cards to update what decks I still have and make them playable/legal.
I play Magic more because of how fast the game goes. I don't understand speeding up a card game.
