What is love to you?
- 10 Feb. 2010 04:50am #2
love isn't what most people think, most think that the tingly feeling you get when you really like someone is love. love is more than that. it's when you'd be willing to suffer insurmountable pain for the happiness of someone else. its when you always put the other person first before everything. and yea it does feel great, but alot of times people, especially younger people, confuse that feeling, with pride. being prideful and protective of a girl/guy isn't the same thing as love.

Love is finding someone who can put up with your faults and you can put with theirs. Along with a healthy dose of attraction, and respect. I think love is really finding someone you can be dedicated and loyal to. It's a deeper bond than friendship. It's not that stupid "romantic" shit you see in most movies or Romeo and Juliet. Love is a bit more refined than that. After the omg I LOVE YOU, YOU'RE SO AWESOMETASTIC phase is over is when I think real love starts blooming. Sure you still have times like that in a relationship, but it isn't always omg I want to sweep you off your feet we must be romantic and watch the stars as the tears of angels fall upon us, oh how I love they let me count the ways. Or that hot crazy maddening feeling, that's more so the symptoms of infatuation. I guess to me, love is like the feeling you'd have towards your most trusted/best friend that you'd do anything in the world for, enjoy fucking, and want to spend the rest of your life with that person because you could care less about having another person's company in that way. Of course, everyone does. Love can be one of the most painful gut wrenching experiences. Making you want to rip out your hair out and baw your eyes bloody. The pain could be a number of things, still subjective toward each person but... Some of the most painful things to me are, the idea of the person you love not being with you or around you anymore, or not seeing them happy and know you're the one causing it.
The second is easier to fix than the first lulz.
@Dr Acula: Either troll harder or GTFO.

Oh trust me that's considering everything isn't perfect and peachy keen. Lol other things that can be really painful are when you're told you aren't for filling a certain aspect of the relationship. That's always a tough thing to hear, especially if you're trying your hardest to meet the demands of the other person. As always things can also come between the relationship, especially any sort of addiction. An example was once my boyfriend didn't talk to me for almost three weeks (keep in mind we live together) because he was too involved in Counterstrike. No matter how many times I told him that it hurt my feelings that'd he'd ignore me or get mad at me when I asked him if he'd like to hang out, he didn't quite get it. I even offered to play with him, or would sit there and watch him for hours. He even made me talk on the mic so I could pretend he was a girl for him. Until I eventually I cried about it. Lol We've had that problem again with another game, and I was at the point where I almost wanted to just be done with the whole relationship. That's when we really sat down and worked it out. Now that isn't an issue anymore, but at the time it really sucked. The only time he'd pay attention was for maybe five minutes when we were eating, and when he wanted to fuck, then proceeded to get mad at me because I was pissed about that and didn't want to. Lulz
In any case there are a lot of things in relationships that can hurt. Sorry about the long rant. Haha

What love is to me, being able to trust a single peson. Putting all your faith into them and not caring about physical appereance or how much moneu they make. The way you feel everytime you look into their eyes, and how you get goose bumps everytime they talk. its more then just a feeling, its a way of life. Love to me is that you need that peoson to live. You would do anything for them to simle. Love also hurts. Its the dubble edge sword of life.

Love is a chemical imbalance in a humans brain to make them have false feelings of desire towards another person. [/sarcasm]
It's hard to explain. I just think it's when you feel one with that person. And there's nothing that you cant handle together, because you're always there for each other.LG's Dyke. Enough. Said.

5 min ago Well for me love is a noun. Simple and easy right?
2 min ago *Research* (credit to wikipedia xD)
Love is any of a number of emotions related to a sense of strong affection[1] and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure ("I loved that meal") to intense interpersonal attraction ("I love my husband"). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.
As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love[2] to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love.[3] Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.
now: Love is a word but still a noun ; )

Love in my mind doesn't equate to happiness for either party. If you love someone you may very well cause them pain and stress for their own good.(forcing someone off drugs)
I agree with the willing to do any thing part though. Though we all know its bull in most cases. Most people say that love is this ideal but often just pursue a warm fuzzy and then end up calling it love and are unwilling to do any thing for the other person.
I would also say love is not a feeling at all, as I said before its a choice and a commitment. There are feelings that you may experience while fulfilling that contract.
