Who do you live for?

When you live for yourself, you make choices based on what makes you happy, and what is better for you now or in the long run, even if that means people around you are unhappy with your decisions.

When you live for others, you base your path around what makes them happy, take a relationship for example.

Me, I pretty much live for myself. I live for what's good for me, and what's going to make me happy. Because of this, people see me as selfish, or cold. But, you know, I feel I have every right to live this life the way I want because If I only have this one life, I'm going to make it the best, and I'm going to live it to the fullest.

So, Who do you live for and why?

well i think i'm both

tho i want to make everyone else happy and be happy at the same time and get what i want in the end

like i wanna do whatever i can to make someone happy and get my goals settled like go to college for example, expand my company etc etc

I don't wake up and think 'how am I going to make someone else happy today?' So in that sense, I guess myself. However, I think that naturally I'm a selfless person, and if a situation arises to help out someone else, often at my expense, I tend to take that path.

I live for my mother.
If I had it my way, I wouldn't even exist, but since I was plagued with this disease that we call "consciousness", I have to live for my mother and do good in my studies so that I can support her when she is old.

Since I'm single and I am quite the independent type, I'd say I live for no one but myself.

The meaning to life is hard to figure out as most seek a single reason and thus miss the fullness that life has to offer them.
Some will say pleasure: putting one's self in the most pleasurable states for as long as possible.
Some will say knowledge: learning all that there is to know for the power it affords.
Some will say morality: That doing good for the sake of doing good is what life is about.
I decided the idea of everything in balance applies and take all three. There are numerous instances of people focusing on just one of the three and being miserable. An any one mean without the others in my opinion can't be experienced to the fullest extent. Pursuing just one become the pursuit of it for its own sake and makes it meaningless. I live my life in the pursuit of all three in conjunction in the name of others and the greater good. I'd rather sacrifice to give another "pleasure" than purse my own souly, grant others knowledge in my search for it, and attempt to always conduct myself in a moral fashion.

My girlfriend. Simple as that. Her happiness is the most important thing.

but what happens if she finds someone else who makes her happy and not you?

I live for myself and my family.
Why? Well because I feel like living for my family, since they'll get weaker soon...
And for myself since I'm quite awesome. xD

I live for my kids.
I know it weird living for someone i dont have yet, or i dont know if im going to have kids.
But i like to make people happy and seeing my kids happy would make me extremely happy.
So im going trk hard everyday in school so i could go to a good college, then get a good job that would support me and my family.
Its the only reason i wake up at 40 in the morning to go to school.

It was necessary for the who to explain the what. If you'd read it you might have noted at the end where I placed other ahead of myself. I live for others and myself at the same time for in living for others I am living for myself.
