Yes, but eating processed foods is accepting unnatural chemicals into your body, which will enter your brain and cause unknown reactions. Girls are having their first period at half the age they did merely 100 years ago. People are a few inches taller than they used to be for no known reason.
Taking any painkiller, including over-the-counter ones, is literally taking something that will alter your brain. Weed is no different, except that it alters different parts. Of course you don't play better, but everything sounds better on weed. And feels, tastes, and looks better. All your senses get boosted.
To the contrary, I've written some amazing programs while high. They were compact, fast, and when I sobered up, I didn't have a clue WTF they said. I just knew they worked and did what they were supposed to. I tried to write the same program sober, and it came out twice as long. So it does alter your creative ability in immeasurable ways - but not always bad ways. I was high when I took the advanced Calculus end-of-year exam, and I made a perfect score. So, not that you are, I'm not going to claim it has any derogatory effects on a person.
