Can being a homosexual hurt anyone?
This question is often questioned among our society everyday. Although it may not seem like a big deal, but prejudice and unwanted comments towards homosexuals are made every single day. You may not notice it, but you probably have made a comment today, about a homosexual. May not have been about making fun of them, but the topic has came up.
In today's world, people aren't as discriminative against homosexuals as they use to be. Although this may seem like a good idea, it is, don't get me wrong, but there are still way too many that don't realize how big of an impact they are making in their everyday lives.
Casual talking can lead to comments like "Oh, that's so gay." or "Yo! Don't be gay." and so forth. Although this may seem like a very small deal to you, but this is what leads to prejudice against homosexuals.
Another question that comes up very often is "Can homosexuals hurt anyone?" This does not mean by physical pain or damage, but by effecting others life styles. Will growing with homosexual parents make influence you to become a homosexual as a child? Would seeing homosexuals in the streets influence you too? There are way too many questions for me to list. Discuss.

being part of any minority hurts someone, and not just as regards to sexual orientations.
People feel that, as long as someone isn't part of the herd, they are to be isolated, to form their own communities at large. Kinda how the cavemen used to separate if their tribes got too large, but not on the same principles. My contributions:

For all the stuff that happens around here, LG itself is always remarkably unchanged. Thanks to the folks who still remembered I was once here and welcomed me back despite me being retarded.

Hehe. -giggles- I can do thi- Wait what? Oh, um, I say yes. We "homos" try not to hurt anyone in any way, yet we end up doing it unwillingly.

My mom's a lesbian and while I may not be as straight as an arrow, I feel that her sexual orientation hasnt affected me in the least, so no, I believe that homosexuals and whatnot cant adversely affect anyone unless you let it.

homos cant not hurt anyone (unless u count bum smex), the only reason you even noticed those comments is because you are a part of the minority. you think people is been offensive to you because they made a gay comment (even if they did not mean to be offensive) and you are gay. if you think about it comments from everyone about every little religion, sexuality or race is made everyday. If you are not a part of the minority been mentioned you would never notice it been said. so no, no one say comments like '"Oh, that's so gay." or "Yo! Don't be gay."' to mean homosexuals should not be a part of the larger community, they say it because they felt like saying it at the moment. comments such as the ones you mentioned are not what cause prejudice against homosexuals, its the people that can not accept new changes.

Ahh Homosexuals are no harm, their just like me and you except they like sex differently. They can't harm anybody. Homosexuals are normal to me, nothing special, just like everyone else. They shouldn't influence how you live or what you do.

Homosexual = Not dangerous.
Homosexual + Knife = dangerous.

Sexuality is influenced prenatally by hormones. There's so much evidence for this that it should be considered fact - and is by many. It's not a choice, and it's not contageous. Being against them is as idiotic as being against prematurely born children, or Down's Syndrome kids. It just f'ing happens, and it's completely natural.

@Tatsuo
Because he wanted to. Not because his mom's a lesbian. It's been proven that there is no correlation between the sexuality of homosexual parents and their children.

Statements like "That's gay" or when a guy cuts you off and you call him a "fag" really no longer have anything to do with homosexuals.
I have no problem with homosexuals as long as they do throw it in peoples' faces. When you do that you're being a douchebag.
I am against same sex marriage because changing the definition of marriage based on the idea that sexual orientation the right to be married to someone of similar orientation opens a can of worms we don't want to mess with. Homosexuals can have civil unions if they want to be "married".

We have those commercials on our school television network all day long.
"When you say "thats gay" do you really know what you're saying? Cut it out"
It's obnoxious because the gays don't really take offense to it, and you'd think if they had a problem with it they'd jump the gun like when someone says the N word and a black dude drops a nut.
- 12 Nov. 2009 09:29pm #23
Yeah, I say gay all the time, and I'm a huge gay supporter.
I love Dane Cook's commentary on the commercials. "Thanks, Hillary Duff. 'Cause whenever I'm in a moral life conundrum, I always think, 'What would Hillary Duff tell me to do?'"

Some gay guys (The really girly types) can be just as bitchy and vicious as preppy girls. They can be just as vindictive. I have a friend who's like that.
- 13 Nov. 2009 12:26am #25
When are you not part of the homosexual community, you can't really feel what homosexuals feel when you say "Oh, that's so gay". The statement is almost referring to saying "Oh, that's almost as bad as being a gay person". What's wrong with being "so gay"? It's just that fact because compare things, items, object, actions etc. to gay people, that's when they get offended.
- 13 Nov. 2009 12:28am #26
No. Of course not. How can being gay lead to a death. Its something people do and there is no harm in that. Its not like they go and kill someone or something.
- 13 Nov. 2009 12:48am #27
Man, this debate is gay.
LOL.
I dont really have a problem with gay's,
as long as they stay away from me.
Really, the only thing i do have a problem with
is that they took a perfect word like "Gay"
and made it a bad thing.
It used to be "What a gay day."
but now its. "This day is fucking gay."
One change in sexuality changed the definition
of a word, completely.

Homosexual people can't do any more harm than anyone else. People think guys kissing guys is gross. But people also think veggies are gross, meat is gross, spinach is gross, etc. but we still have those.

Can homoseuxals hurt anyone?
I'm sure a homosexual wielding a knife who had just found out that his car has been torched could probs hurt someone yes (:
On Topic- I'm rather open minded, i don't have an issue with anyone coined with a name ending in -sexual. I feel that some people are bound to be uneasy on the subject matter, but i think the people whuld be anti homosexual are bound to be redneck ^^.Consequentialism - A Firm Beliver In The End Justifying The Means (:

Ok, homosexuals can't hurt anyone (in the non-physical sense) Being gay doesn't hurt anyone except those that think it does. If you're gay, then whatever, as long as you're happy and you don't try to recruit me its fine.
I have some good friends that are homosexual, and they have the same problems that we all do. Fact of the matter is people only think being gay hurts people around them becaus they probably lying to themselves or are just being biggoted for no reason.
May take, if it makes you happy, then its cool with me. All that matters is that you are happy personally.Voted Hottest Male Member
