Personally I like XP, I down graded from vista when I got my computer because I hated it. Haven't tried windows 7 though I heard it's a lot better than vista. : )

the bad thing with xp, is that it was made before the LCD screens

:< I know. It sucks that XP doesn't have the best graphics anymore, but at the moment I don't think I'd buy 7 seeing as my computer would probably be too shitty to run it.
- 01 Jan. 2010 12:16am #7
yeah you probably shouldn't until you get a faster computer
- 01 Jan. 2010 12:48am #8
I have XP! It totally looks like vista though
Here's how!
- 01 Jan. 2010 12:55am #9
I'm using XP, havent tried 7. but Vista is just... terrible
- 01 Jan. 2010 01:05am #10
I can't stand vista. Just gives me too many problems on a daily basis. I have yet to try 7, would really like to on a computer that isn't mine.
I prefer XP though. Never gave me problems, I liked the way everything was and what not. I just love it to death.

i am running on windows 7.5, the download is on Alienware, so its basically windows 8, and it is better then Vista on so many levels. its like browsing on a whole different world.
Compared to XP its easily better and easier to handle, navigate, and control.
Its hands down better than any other Windows incarnation.Voted Hottest Male Member

7 isn't that bad. I like it's appearance but I'm not very use to it...Well if your using it you should know the difference between 7 and Vista/Xp. I personally think 7 is much harder to use. I prefer Vista of all of them.

its official. it is windows 7, but a very recent download. and i have a friend who added a few tweaks to the programming. its disables the extra search features and adds spead boosts.
all it leaves is favorites, suggested sites and a small tools selection. Screeny will be added.
EDIT:
Screeny.

as you can see either from the link or the image, it is almost identical to 7, the main difference is the absence of the search bars and information bars. Just favorites and tools options. and since im running on mobile internet on my laptop, the speed boost allows for 100% quality on a 20% or even 10% connection.

that is a better image, it shows me still connected at 0% with -109 dps.Last edited by Souleater; 01 Jan. 2010 at 02:15am.

- 01 Jan. 2010 03:25am #20
I'm using Windows XP but plan to upgrade to 7 eventually soon.
- 01 Jan. 2010 03:28am #21

7 > XP > Vista
I'm running 7, and it's amazing. OP, you just don't know where to look for drivers. It doesn't make sense for it to not have drivers for a keyboard, especially, but even a webcam seems farfetched. If the driver finder can't find one automatically, search the manufacturer's website. I've updated the drivers for my girlfriend's modem once she got her Windows 7 netbook, and it worked fine. Had to go to the website for it. Wasn't hard to do at all.
Anyway, Windows 7 is epic. Libraries are awesome. Favorites are semi-awesome, but still an improvement. The taskbar is epic, A+, mega improvement. Along with the ability to rearrange icons (in both the taskbar and bottom right toolbar). Not sure why it took so long for them to do that. Changing taskbar icons from icon + text to just icon is perfect, plus the ability to pin them to the taskbar as a quick launch alternative.
So, yes, I love Windows 7. It's the best Windows yet. I wouldn't pay the billion dollars to upgrade from XP, unless I was rich, but anyone with Vista needs to upgrade it. Vista is atrocious.

I have Windows 7. I love it, so much I would buy it if I could pull $30 out of my ass =/
The only issue I have had is that I have this PS2/GC/Xbox to USB converter and it won't install the drivers because they are not signed, so when I boot up windows I have to press f8 and choose to allow digitally unsigned drivers, but meh.
Oh and when I first installed Windows 7, I had some permission errors, but it's all good now. >.<

@GAMEchief HP dosnt have drivers for my keyboard yet says thier website so yeah
--
only thing im confused about is my dl speed has made and epic drop it used to be 1mbps but now when i download stuff i only does max of 200 kbps on a good day
when i had vista is was always 1mb and my laptop is also 1mbps (on 7)
and i ave no clue what happen to my speed
i run a speedtest and it says 9mbps ( it always said that) but its not giving me anything close

Vista is awesome.
Love it. All these people have this idea its terrible and its not. I've had zero problems with it. Literally all the complaints and cons are nonexistent in my experience with it.
The only real con is that they changed the networking protocol deal. But that's just progress and the old protocol will just phase out in a few years and no one will complain about it.

Which means nothing unless all the computer have the same parts in them and are running them on the same settings. Which they shouldn't because then Vista would be kick XP's butt as long as you're actually using it on a system that can run it. Which is where all the problems really come from, people throwing Vista on a machine that shouldn't be running it or they decide to use the ghost admin account that you're not supposed to use.
Its not Vista's fault you don't customize it to look better
So you made yo computer fail.

Looks like someone is butthurt and defensive about how they bought Vista. My friend has it, and it's atrocious. Horrible, ugly, slow. Even on a computer than can run it. Windows 7 is literally Vista with all the problems fixed, more features, and less lag. You're the first person I've ever heard defend Vista, and it sounds very much like you're only doing so because you paid for it. Having experienced them all, I stick by my 7 > XP > Vista statement.

I'm not defending it because I paid for, because I didn't pay for it.
I've literally never had any problems, never encountered any of the so called issues. It runs faster than any thing else I've tried on my computer. I don't thinks it ugly. Maybe I just took the time to make it not ugly. Visat doesn't lag on me either.
I know 7 is better, I just am not willing to pay for it right now.
- 02 Jan. 2010 12:18am #33
Coming on your computer = paying for it. They don't give you the OS for free.
Have you tried putting XP SP3 on there? Or just pirate Windows 7.

Didn't come on. It had XP. I was using XP before I upgraded.
I was literally give Vista by a friend.
I've not messed with pirated 7.
The reason I'm always defending Vista everywhere I go is that it a great system based on my experience with it. As I said, I've had zero problems and my comp. runs like a dream. So everyone else bitches and moans about all these problems I've never had and have tried to encounter and they don't happen to me so I'm left with the belief that Vista is fine.
- 02 Jan. 2010 12:46am #35
Well vista was slow i did/do like it i think it looks good but i had a few problems
im able to start up word and photoshop 10x faster everything closes right away
i just love its responce time
i still have vista on my hard drive but i havnt used it and for some reason it wont let me take anymore space from it to put on 7

I hear 7 is just more or less vista with its trying too hard to be user friendliness and some other non important things torn out of it.
- 03 Jan. 2010 10:46pm #37
what sucks about 7 is that you cant use firefox
- 03 Jan. 2010 10:53pm #38
What are you talking about? I've used Firefox on Windows 7. Not sure why you would think otherwise.
- 03 Jan. 2010 10:57pm #39
oh really i was told that windows 7 changed everything
so firefox is no longer compatible
