No. The prices as is are only beneficial to corporations who handle that much Internet traffic. Whenever it inevitably becomes cheap enough for open consumer use, absolutely. But I doubt Google Fiber will be the lead competitor when that rolls around, since I believe the FCC(?) is pushing to make other ISPs provide Fiber-similar-speed alternatives to DSL and cable.

Yeah they pretty much have everything. Even a programming language in Go.
They probably have some in-house scripting languages as well that aren't publicized.

Nope. Wouldn't plan on it.
I don't get tired.

They own a surprisingly large number of real-life companies. Pretty much if it saves them money in the long run, they buy any company that is providing them services. I'm actually pretty psyched about it, because all the subcompanies operate on the same moral foundation that Google does. Especially their renewable energy investments.

I would definitely buy it if it ever came to where I live, and was cheaper or as cheap as my current internet. I'm sick of being throttled to speeds of 256kbps when I'm supposed to be getting 1-2mbps download. It sucks. I would make use of the 1gbps speeds too, my current bandwidth calculator says the following:
During December 2012, I downloaded 60GB+ worth of stuff. Uploaded 10GB.
And that's with 256kbps, imagine how much I could torrent with 1gbps.
This month I'm not even paying attention to my statistics, as for the past like five+ weeks I've been in and out of the hospital, not really on-focus or downloading much at all. I've been tempted to get a Pirate Box, as I used to download almost a hundred and fifty to two hundred gigabytes a month, me alone (not including anyone else in my household) when I had faster internet and more time to watch movies. I was a pretty big player on Warez-BB and a few other forums/piracy communities.

Wait, there's a free option? What? Can someone please explain how anyone can afford to give away free fiberoptic cables? Haha

There's an option where you don't have to pay monthly fees (the so called "free" option). You simply pay a construction fee of $300 and you have guaranteed service for at least 7 years of up to 5Mbps download, 1Mbps upload speed. No data caps.
The gigabit service will be $70/mo + taxes with a year long contract. Sounds pretty cheap in my opinion. Right now I pay $60 for 30Mbps download (no contract though).
