After recent shooting at other high schools, my school is enforcing a rule which is what i think is unnecessary. You can't even joke about anything relating to harming someone. They will still suspend you and possible expulsion.
For example, the most recent was when one of my friend started a rumor about someone having a gun at school. The school went into a quick lockdown and SWAT arrived. Another time, a freshman joked about bringing a gun to school and shoot his friend. Both are in my class. Everyone in the class knew they were joking, including the teacher. But somehow the admins found out and the freshman had police searching his house and he was suspended for 5 days.
These are the consequences.
-If caught/heard/etc (even joking), teachers are require to call security or send the student out.
-Five day suspension and/or referral for expulsion.
What do you guys think of this? Does you school do something similar?

That's the world of political correctness. Its the same logic that prevents one from singing a Christmas carol at a public school.
The main logic is that if you allow threats you place the burden on the "victims" to deal with the speech, not the speech maker.

Well, it is somewhat logical. Why would you joke about something so serious such as that? It's constitutional, in a way. If you were joking about saying, "I'm gonna kick your ass.", then that's straight. But you should not joke about bringing a gun to a school and threatenin' to kill somebody or shoot the school. That's not cool. I mean, I've said, "I'm gonna kill you, bro." In a joking manner before, but it is not as descriptive as describing using an actual weapon such as a gun to inflict it. That can be taken seriously. It's all about the establishment of a clear and present danger.

Okay, 99% of the that stuff are jokes, but they can't there's always that 1%. Better safe than sorry.
About 2 years ago, there were bomb threats almost daily to my school, everyone knew they were a joke, but we still had to evacuate each time.

Although this is completely unrelated to the gun thing, I have a similar story. Two years ago, some kid was playing around with his friends and one friend pushed him and he slipped on us and got run over by a bus and died. It was all very sad and serious. But their solution? Now we have a white line we're supposed to stay on one side of at all time. ALL TIMES. Even when buses aren't nearby. This is am example of a rule no one follows.

Well, I don't randomly go around saying "I'm gonna kill ya bro."
I don't even know why you guys joke around about killing each other, I mean I might say "I'm gonna hit you...." or something a like but I wouldn't say "kill."

Solution: don't let teachers here you.
But in all actuality, I say shame on the people who think joking about shooting someone with a gun is even funny in the first place.
