My own opinion correlates with drak's over all. I didn't have too much of one before watching this, at least not from an educated stand point. It was more like I didn't care, but after seeing this I'm really not sure exactly what I think. I'd hate to personally have to have to go through any of those. As a kid I always thought of if I for some crazy reason had to get the death penalty what would I choose? None of them seem appealing at all, and even more so after watching this documentary. I was appalled at the lack of humanity the man at the end seemed to have. If we have that attitude doesn't it make us just as bad as those we are sentencing to death? To be that vindictive really just shows a lack of self control on that man's end. I can understand feeling powerless and wanting to hurt those who hurt others, but in the end you're no better than them. I think a quick painless way to die would be more humane. Though it bring into question would it really be a deterrent to criminals? I'm sure it'd still be at least a deterrent in some sense since most people don't want to die. However it doesn't have the same gory brutality of the other methods which makes it less "off putting"? It really bring into question whether we want to be humane, or be feared. In the end I'd rather have a quick painless death, I'm not sure how much I want to extend that to others. Although that would be the right thing to do; and would be hypocritical of me to expect something like that in the same situation if I'm not willing to let others.
