I've always been fascinated with the subconscious mind. Hypnosis, dreaming, subliminal messaging, and the like. One thing that bothers me is that I can't hardly ever remember my own dreams. I know everyone dreams but y'all got any tricks to remember them? Kinda makes sleeping boring. Do y'all remember most of your dreams or does it seem like you just don't dream?

I've always wanted to try and be hypnotised to see if it works. Or be put in those sleep states. I never really believed in the, so I want to experience if its true.
I hate when I remember a dream, then it starts fading away. Then you're left with nothing trying to remember what it was.
About the 1st person thing Gangsta said, i find that, that is true.
Last time I remember having on, was when i was much younger. And I watched dragon ball before going to bed. Then I ended up charging up a ball of that energy and blasting my neighbor haha.
I've always wanted to the know the meaning behind recurring dreams.
I have one at least once a month of me falling of a big hill, and waking up before i hit the floor. And there's always a slide right there, and it's always a huge green hill. :/

Idk about controlling the dream really but usually when i get that 1st person dream i end up dying...lol I've always been told the dream is based off what you are thinking about. Doesn't matter if its consciously or subconsciously.

Scientifically, dreams are how the brain processes events and emotions from the time you were awake. Kind of like defragging the harddrive. Though nothing has really been proven (at least from what I've read). I used to have this recurring dream that I was on a huge slide going into hell. Really sucks to have that kinda night's sleep when you're only 8yrs old.

Any time I remember a dream I've manipulated it and I never dream in 1st person.
The subconscious is mostly comprised of your body functions that occur without you thinking about them. There is more to it, it has cognitive abilities but ultimately its nowhere near as big a deal as pop culture and self help books make it out to be. Its not even part of psychology, even Freud dismissed it as being a good term or important.
Your cognitive mind is more responsible for your dreams. Hypnosis is also based in the waking cognitive and rely on you being open to it and is nothing like its portrayed in magic acts and tv, its basically the placebo effect. Subliminal messaging is theoretical. We don't know it work and it to is sent to your waking mind, just a ton of times without you knowing to try and make you think or do what is being represented for the most part science feels its just another example of the placebo effect.

I've read some things about this before. I've heard that you can consciously control your dreams by repeatedly asking yourself if you're sleeping when you are awake. If it become second nature, eventually you will ask yourself if you are sleeping when you are sleeping and the answer will be yes upon which you take control. On an interesting note, apparently time flows differently when one sleeps.

Time is relative in both the waking and dream world.
Interesting fact, if you become sleep deprived enough or sleep too much you lose the ability to distinguish when you are awake or asleep and fall in and out of dreams.
Another interesting theory that is out there is the subconscious is collective for our race and when you dream your connected to everyone else who is sleeping. So with that in mind, here's a question. If you have a committed relationship and you have a dream about sleeping with someone else, have you cheated on your partner?

collective thought process is interesting. isn't that what the movie inception is about or something? dunno, haven't seen it yet. as for cheating that would depend on what the persons individual views are. some consider fantasizing about another person cheating whilst others would say that cheating isn't until physical action has be taken. haha, i've pulled all-nighters with friends before and they started having some hallucinations after about 40 some hours without sleep. so they said anyway. microsleep is another thing. i've been reading and realized that, when i woke up the next morning, the passage seemed strangely familiar. that or reading the same sentence over and over again. i've done that several times as well.
