You can easily replace a CPU without replacing anything else. You will, however, have to buy a new OS license. Also, always check to be sure your CPU is compatible with your MoBo.

yeah the reason why i'm planning to buy a new processor is because i wanted to play l4d 2. my old p4 1.6 ghz can't do shit
