The Happy Folk lived peacefully at the base of a great mountain known as “Monkey” and it was said that onto of this great mountain lives the creator of all the lands, whose name was Grand Monkey, for he resembled a monkey. However he was much larger then a man, three of our tallest boats lined up tip to tip, were still shorter then Grand Monkey. One day, long-long ago, a man was walking through the paths of Monkey; the man wore a large and heavy pack filled with man goods from far-away lands. The man felt so tired and so worn that he deiced to stop at a tree and clearing that over hanged on a cliff. Once the man had put down his pack and lay under a tree something happened. A monkey dropped down from the tree, giving the man an odd look. The man looked at this little red monkey, “Why hello there little monkey, how are you doing today?” the man said with a grin, for the man knew the tales of how a red monkey meant that the monkey was a messenger from the creator, Grand Monkey. The monkey smiled back giving the tired man a nod, “I'm doing well, though like you I am tired, Can I perhaps rest with you?” The red monkey asked as he took a large package off his back, placing it carefully under the shadow of the tree. The tried man looked at the monkey, then to the package and quickly asked “You may join me, if you give me that package.” The red monkey quickly jumped onto the package, sitting on top of it, “No no, this package is for the happy folk, unless you are the happy folk, I can not give you it.” The red monkey said. The tried man thought about this, and replied, in a clever tone “Oh, But red monkey, I am the happy folk. You can give me that package.” The man said, hoping to trick the red monkey into giving him the package. The red monkey looked at the man and did not even think twice before hopping off the package and saying “Well then Happy folk, here is your package. I will be leaving to tell Grand Monkey of my delivery.” and with that the red monkey ran off, up into the mountain. The tired man looked down at the package with awe, wondering what was inside this tiny package. However the tried man was reluctant to open the package, for he was very tired and would rather rest first. So the tired man hid the package in his bag and settled down to take a nap. When the red monkey returned to the creator, and told him of his delivery, the creator yelled and rumbled telling the monkey that he delivered it to the wrong person. “Red monkey, how could you do this?! A single person is not a folk. A folk is a group of people! Go get back the package and give it to the real happy folk! Now go!” The Grand Monkey, Creator, told to red monkey, so red monkey quickly went down the mountain to retrieve the package that he accidentally delivered to the wrong person. But when the red monkey reached the tree he was shocked to find that the tired man was gone and so was the package. The red monkey panicked, fearful of what will happen to himself if he returned to the creator without delivering it to the happy folk; So the red monkey bolted down the mountain road, hoping to catch up to the tired man. When red monkey finally found the tired man, who was now at the bottom of the mountain and it’s road, the monkey walked up to the tried man, who ironically was resting again at another tree in its dark shade. “Ah red monkey, Thank you again for the gift!” the tired man said as the red monkey sat down next to him, The red monkey looked frantic and said in a quick and desperate sounding voice “You tricked me, you are not the happy folk, Why did you take the package!?” The monkey was sweating and looked worried. “Oh but monkey, I am sorry, but I live with the happy folk. I thought I could save you time by delivering it for you” The tired man said with a sly smile, for he was trying once again to trick red monkey. The red monkey sighed with relief, “Oh thank you, I was worried that you would steal the package, but since you are willing to help me, I thank you. Sorry for the misunderstanding” The monkey said happily, before again running off, back up into the mountain. Once the red monkey was gone and tired man laughed, for he had just tricked the monkey again. “Oh silly monkey, you are far too gullible!” the tired man said to himself with a taunting chuckle. The tried man took the package out from his bag and placed it in front of him. With the sun high in the sky and tired man opened up the package and a gleaming light shot out. “Ah! What a wonderful gift!” The tired man yelled, overcome with joy at what he saw. For there laying in the package was the gift of everlasting life that took the form of new skins, so when he got old and weak, he could just slip into a new skin and be young and powerful once more. Over-come with greed and the thought of being the most powerful person in his village, the tired man quickly stashed the package back into his pack, he wanted to take this back to his village and show the happy folk that he was now better then them, for he was now immortal. ][not done][
