I can't just pause or stop it while I'm listening to it. It's empowering and the solo makes me feel like a god @_@ It's weird.
How did yelling "Freebird" originate anyway?

Ronnie Van Zant wrote "Freebird" with Gary. Lyrics and notions are all original to him. The whole song is very inspired, Ronnie really put his heart and soul into it.
It is a very empowering and exciting song, but three guitars screaming at you for upwards of 8 minutes will do that. Skynryd was actually a really complex band as far as having a bunch of musicians all playing at once. You have three guitars, bass, piano, harmonica(occasional), fiddle, trumpets(occasional), backup singers, and a singer.
I grew up in the same area Skynyrd did and played in Jacksonville. My father and grandfather know their families and played with several members in little bands before they were Skynyrd.

Believe it or not, I didn't know about the band or the song until I played Guitar Hero 2. Granted I was like 12, so it's understandable i didn't know about it.
It's very good guitar, good vocals, overall good instrumental. I love the song.
Now at my school, if someone is talking in the Auditorium, someone has to go: "FREEBIRD!"
It cracks me up every time.LG's Dyke. Enough. Said.

I did some research on the origin of screaming it after a song is played, and apparently it started with one fan(or more) and a radio DJ. I don't remember COMPLETELY what happened, but that's the general gyst of things. I think the DJ had a caller, and he only got as far as "Hey, wha-" Then the fan yelled "Freebird!"
That's from what I THINK I remember of looking it up ages ago. >.< I"ll need to go double check because it feels sort of off.
And that's awesome! That definitely does say a lot about your playing and yearn to learn more :p☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

Freebird is an alright song...Its just way to long for me to play it repeatedly on Guitar Hero...I love the first couple of minutes of the song though...
