Thats healthy your bodey makes a better imuneity to the flu that way and you get sick less offen than a person who takes the shots

I highly recommend not getting swine flu shot. Seriously, there are so many side effects that could happen, including paralysis. It's totally not worth it, because one if your healthy chances of getting the swine in the first place are very slim, secondly, The swine flu is JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER INFLUENZA. And not deadly unless you live in some third world country or something. So verdict: if you're a healthy person, don't get the swine flu shot

I don't think the Swine Flu is that big of a deal. My parents made me get the nasal spray though. It is more effective than the shot because it is a live virus, but there is a little more chance you will get the actual flu. It is a lot safer than the shot though because the shot has mercury in it (yes, the stuff that got the old thermometers banned). This can cause some bad reactions. It is 99% fine, but that extra one percent of getting totally paralyzed sucks. I got the mist last week and am fine.

why get the shot? my doc offered it to me and i refused, and this was like last month when shots were rare. i just dont see the point of getting it. you get sick for a day and your arm hurts for like 4 days. all that so you wont get a little fever?

the swine flu vaccine is mandated for all people in the military, so i got mine for free (hahaha), and the side effects are the same as getting a normal flu shot. Drowsiness, nausia, vomiting, disentary, and possibility to pass out during strenuous activities.

its nothing serious. it'll just make you less likely to get the swine flu.

This thread is full of fail.

The swine flu shot is a dead virus, you could drink tons of it and not get swine flu.

The nasal vaccine has a weakened LIVE virus.

What made people so afraid was that they did not allow a long amount of human testing of the live virus nasal vaccine so they couldn't properly say whether or not a person could properly fight the virus. But it seemed to be fine, only 1 death and roughly 10 infections have accrued from it which compared to other live virus vaccines (Small pox etc.) is really a great statistic.

The reason why you would get the nasal vaccine is because the body teaches itself about the virus and how to protect itself from it by fighting the virus, sure the dead virus helps but it does not always allow the body to properly adapt to the strain of the virus, where as the chances of proper defenses being made form the fighting of a live virus is almost 80% better.

That was just a stupid rumor spread around by people that didn't understand why the vaccine was "dangerous".


Word of warning : Before getting ANY type of vaccine make sure you are in full health and your immune system is strong enough to fight off the virus. Being pregnant, sick, depressed, or in poor health could lead to a major chance of not being able to fight off the virus. (In the case of the pregnant women that got the live vaccine and died due to catching it.)

Unless it cause you to get it because the damaged virus jacks some dna and reconstitutes itself.

Shots for virus aren't that effective and in many case will just give you the virus. We don't understand viruses well enough and no one cares to devote resources to it or any medicine that isn't potentially one you need for life or can be marketed that way.

On a side note this is the same flu we had in the 80s. Not a big deal, no reason to freak. Its not any thing special.
