see, i think that if a gay couple wants to get married they have as much of a right as any straight couple to be miserable like every other married couple in the world. they want to get married, i say let them, who is it to say that 2 people that love eachother can't get married? no one has that right, people only think that they do.

I am against same sex marriage because changing the definition of marriage based on the idea that sexual orientation the right to be married to someone of similar orientation opens a can of worms we don't want to mess with. Homosexuals can have civil unions if they want to be "married".

1st Marriage is not a right. If it is then you have to make it so that marriage includes everyone's sexual preference.
2nd Marriage is currently defined as the union between a man and a woman. If you allow the homosexuals to change that based on their sexual preference and a right to marriage you establish legal precedent for every sexual preference to do the same. You will have to allow for polygamy, bestiality, pedophilia, and any thing else you can imagine. Why because you've allowed for marriage to become a right. You can't say that you have the right to marry based on love or because of the way you are because that will instantly become the defense of the pedophilia with the child they've brainwashed.
You can give homosexuals civil unions with all the same rights as a marriage. I admit we need to go ahead and do that because its not fair not to. I also feel the homosexual community will make bigger strides towards this if they stop with the parades and in your face approach that pisses everyone off and inspires hate.

Gay marriage is fine. By claiming it's defined by the Bible, you are not only refusing to separate church and state (since marriages are acknowledged by and rewarded by the state through tax cuts and the like), but you're forcing your religion on other people. They obviously don't believe in your version of the Bible that says they can't marry. For all you know, they may be Christian too. And even if they aren't, it shouldn't matter. If their religion doesn't agree with yours, you (and the government) shouldn't have the right to tell them they can or can't do something.
So, let's recap. Against Constitution through separation of church and state. Against Constitution through preventing them from expressing their personal religious beliefs.
If you have another reason, shoot it up. As far as I know, there is no non-Biblical response to gay marriage. Let them marry, for fuck's sake. It's not going to hurt anyone else.
I don't get what people's problem with it is. They're not hurting you. Stay the Hell out of their lives if you don't agree with them.
The most absurd thing of it all is that it's republicans and conservatives who don't believe that gay marriage should be allowed - the same people who believe government should stay the Hell out of the business of the citizens. Government can't tell me what I can and can't drink, can and can't eat, can and can't pay my employees, can and can't sell and whatever price I want. Oh, they wanna tell me who I can and can't marry? By all means.

i dont think it matters if your gay or straight evryone should be treated equal and if you like other guys or other girls it should not matter at all

I support, why should anyone in America, be denied rights just because they love the same sex? Love is love, no matter what. If you're an american citizen, you're given certain rights, it's stated, and the denial of someone who's gay to get married is against our own civil rights.

I support.
I dont think people should have a say in how another person lives their lives. It's none of their business.

I support gay marriage. The idea that people shouldn't be able to marry because of their "physical plumbing" is a ridiculous one. If other people think it's immoral, all they have to do is avoid marrying people the same sex as themselves rather than try to interfere and rule over other peoples' lives.

I've got nout against Gays nor do I disprove of it, people should be free to do as they please. I do however love this.
"Some People are Gay, Get Over it", "Most People Hate Gays, get used to it."
It was spray painted under one of those signs in my area and I burst out laughing. I know I shouldn't but that's what happens when you obsessively lurk 4chan.

You're an idiot. You did nothing disprove my argument, other than spout random fact about nothing and say "ha". Go take a logic class and learn to argue.
I said that we needed to go ahead and make civil unions morel like marriages by the way.
Marriage is a civil contract, divorce is the nullification of that contract. Marriage isn't a religious intuition, its a contract a man and a woman enter into as defined by the state allowing for shared procession of their stuff and join of families. There is no part about love, there is not right, there is a man and woman part. An that prevents polygamy, gay marriages, bestiality marriages, necrophilia marriages, and pedophile marriages. You let the gays change the definition then you have to allow all the others. This is not an argument of love or if you can be gay or not. Be gay, I don't care. I will not allow them to establish legal presidents for the pedophiles and other weirdos to come along as say "We've the right to marry for love. I love this three year old boy and he loves me so marry us."
You think it won't happen? It will. Why? You made marriage a right and established legal precedent. An as soon as the lawyer points out that precedent, the case is over. The court has to allow it, or go back and not allow gay marriage either.
You are not give a right to marriage. You are give the rights defined in the "Bill of Rights". Now you want to say "What about the pursuit of happiness part?"
That's the deceleration of independence and has nothing to do with your rights.
Make marriage a right and you allow for every thing stated prior.

I support.....But there must be guidelines and some laws to this. Im not supporting any type of off the wall crazy stuff. Woman and dog, Child and man and that Vile type things
- 25 Nov. 2009 06:21am #36
I support because I think love has no gender, so I don't see why it would be wrong to marry someone of your own sex. Also, sorry. I'm not religious but..
If "God", being the almighty whatever and all, does have something against it, he wouldn't allow us to even have any such thoughts.
Just what I think. (: ~L O L W U T

I support it...Im not gay though i just feel that Equality is something thats not Present in America or anywhere today
- 05 Dec. 2009 03:28pm #40
I support it because, even if I'm straight, the gay people never chose if that was right or not for me to have boyfriend, they never said 'hey that's wrong!', and as human beings we are, we have the right to choose
