Clean the air vent/fan system. Mine never overheats. Mostly 'cause it's new. My friend's overheats like fuck almost as soon as you turn it on.

My step-dad and I pimped out my computer so I can leave it on for weeks and it will never overheat. We added an epicfan.

I don't think I've ever had any of my systems overheat.
My old 98' gateway didn't even overheat and I had it for 8 years uncleaned. That fan made a HELL of a noise. I could literally hear it outside o.< And it still didn't overheat
I've taken much better care of my new shitty pc from Compaq that's been outdating itself every month. xD
It's only got 250GB on the HD and 1GB memory.

I always use air cans to clean out my computers every couple of months.. Actually I think I should do that today. [: And the most common problem is the fan tends to slow down because of all the dust, etc, so it can't ventilate properly. Thank god for Alienware eh?

I think it evn overheats if the model is too old?
- 26 Mar. 2010 10:02am #21
Considering I use a desktop with a fan next to it, and my room is always cold, no, my computer has never overheated.
- 27 Mar. 2010 11:02am #22
I just tried removing the case so that air can pass. The temp went down by around 10 degrees! duh

My desktop never over heats. its a old computer. (ACER) and umm it had a virus that made everything about a centimeter big so we left it in the corner to collect dust than we got it rebooted and new OS so it doesnt happen anymore and none of my computers i ever had over heated.
