Holy crap, what started out as a drunken mistake on the kid's behalf ended up continuing for a good year before she got caught out. Do you reckon 9 years is suitable for the amount of times this lady had sex with this 12 year old/let alone the fact that she kept a "childish" diary that could link to her not being fully "there". I personally think she's the kind of case that should have been moved on up to a mental health ward for as long as possible. What are your thoughts?A woman who had sex almost 200 times with a 12-year-old boy has been jailed for nine years.
Angela Sullivan, 36, even gave the boy - who was dubbed "manballs" by school friends - a pair of trainers as a reward after he slept with her for the 100th time.
When police arrested her in October, they found her diary marked with childish entries, and 191 stars against dates when they had sex.
The unemployed single mother, of Cavendish Road, Middlesbrough, admitted 10 specimen charges - relating to one sex session for each month of their fling last year - of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Prosecutor Richard Bennett told Teesside Crown Court that the abuse started on the night of a party she threw at her home in January last year.
"On the 3rd to the 4th January the defendant threw a belated New Year's party," he said.
"Alcohol, including spirits, was available and it seems the young children at the party were freely able to consume it."
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, later told police he had consumed 10 bottles of the vodka-based drink WKD and was very drunk. "The defendant took the intoxicated boy up to bed," Mr Bennett said.
Jailing Sullivan for nine years, Judge John Walford described the case as "shocking". He also condemned her for the psychological effect her conduct would have on the victim and her own son.
Sullivan, who had no previous convictions, was also placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

36 year old woman has sex with 12 year old boy...200 times!
- 26 Feb. 2010 05:29pm #2
aha, I agree with you. She should have been put into a mental ward 'till her life is over, she doesn't deserve to just be put into jail.
And 9 years? For something that she did? That's really stupid, if anything she should have been thrown into jail for the rest of her life if they didn't want to put her into a mental ward.
Cause jersey just got colder and
I'll have you know i'm scared to death
That everything that you had said to me was just
A lie until you left
Now I'm hoping just a little bit stronger
Hold me up just a little bit longer
I'll be fine, I swear
I'm just gone beyond repair

There was obviously something wrong with her. She should've been moved to a mental ward. This is just disturbing.

Thats fucking stupid... It reminds of this story i seen on oprah, where this guys mom prostituted her kids, and had sex with her kids... but um, i think she deserves to be in a straight jacket.

9 years is definitely not necessary, and she definitely has problems of her own. I'm placing my bets on she's a rape victim.

That is just really creepy, 200 times having sex with this boy. I wonder how that will change his life. But yeah she should go to some type of ward for that.

Obviously this boy was permitting this to go on, it wasn't as if she was raping him.
disturbing yes of course, but he could have said no at any time..

If I was a teacher and my student was 14 and hot and female, I'd get her drunk and screw her 200 times.
But yeah, they shouldve put her in some kind of crazy house for life.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I agree with Chief. This woman must have been sexually abused before. If not, then I'm assuming that she needs to go get help most likely for the same reason for her being a "single" mother.

I really don't care that she's doing the kid. I really don't. For there to be 200 incidents means he wanted it. I'd say he's just as much a fault as her. Yeah maybe he was drunk the first time but he came back despite it all. As a matter of fact he most likely enjoyed the hell out of the whole thing based on what I recall of being a 12 year old boy. Yeah, she's not completely right in the head but she's not messed up enough to plead insanity. She's most likely antisocial with people her own age due to a difference in interest in things and a lack of maturity. Making her more comfortable with kids, to entice them to ignore her age she offers them things they'd want and end up forming a romantic relationship with someone on her mental level. I'm not saying pedophilia is ok, I'm just saying the kid and his friends were in on it too. I see it as wrong to make the woman out as a monster when they all equally share the fault.

I wouldn't say she's antisocial with her own age at all. She was a rape victim around the age of 10 to 13, and she's reliving a second childhood. Even though she isn't, she sees herself as the same age as the child. It wouldn't prevent her from having friends her own age at all.
@Rundeer,
Just because the legal system doesn't see it as consent doesn't mean it's not. It may be uninformed consent, but consent nonetheless. He wasn't raped.

It doesn't prevent her from doing so, she's just more inclined not to because of the way she perceives herself. You are more likely to be friends with those you're comfortable with and you believe to be most like yourself.
Also I really hope no one buys this kid's story about being drunk and raped. Remove age from this and look at the relationship: He's with an woman who is really into him, puts out, gives him alcohol, and buys him stuff. If he were 18 the world would think him a lucky bastard.

I'm assuming that her wanting to do this, being a single mother and having little/no social life (if that, it wasn't touched upon) are closely connected with the main reason she went through with this.
But I can understand where C0FFIN is coming from. I mean 200 times and he didn't say anything until now? Something personal must have happened between them or else they'd still be going on about it right now. All that time without speaking a word, and especially being at the age of 12, he had as much part in it as she did.☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

While your theory makes sense, I disagree, simply because I know multiple women of multiple ages (from teenagers to full-grown adults) who are rape victims reliving second childhoods. Not one of them makes friends with people who are the age they were when they were raped, nor do any of them have trouble making friends with people their own age.

I'm drawing my conclusion based on my uncle who just kind of never grew up. He dropped out of college and listened to music and has worked at Publix all his life. He is very smart but mentally he feels that socially he's still only on par with those at college age. So he's friends with a bunch of younger people, he has friends his age that still share similar interests but he's obviously uncomfortable when conversation shifts to more complex and mature discussion. I'm not saying she doesn't have friends her age or would make them or even seek them but I'm betting that this kid who's friend named him "manballs" were her friends too.

I can't believe you guys are saying these things. He was 12 years old. A child. You can't put a little kid in that kind of position. How do we know how often the child actually said "yes"? A grown adult could've taken control of him like this.
And where the hell were his parents during this whole episode?

You're sixteen. Do you think you're grown up? Yes. Does the twelve year old feel the same? Yes. Being twelve doesn't make him this weak irrational being, we have kids younger than him in the streets selling drugs and killing people. Its a different time, innocence isn't a luxury that last as long as it used to. The only way he was being controlled was the same way any male is by a woman: "Do what I want and you can have sex with me."

I have no idea on the situation as to her ability to and comfortableness in making friends much younger than her. But I know that being a rape victim doesn't make you less comfortable around people your own age, and as far as I know, it doesn't make you more comfortable with someone who is the age you were when you were raped.
But it's pretty safe to say that the reason your male uncle doesn't want to grow up, and the way he acts as a result, is not the same as a female rape victim and her resulting actions.
