Back in 4th grade, trading card games were the thing to do. Our school actually made rules that you couldn't bring your cards to school because people were taking them and crying over them.
Mine was Pokemon, but actually still is, I'm still collecting the cards as well.
Yu-gi-oh was a big deal in my school as well.

Dude we had baseball cards when I was growing up till like 5th grade, then pokemon hit and that was a big deal but only in the same way as baseball cards. No one played the game just tried collecting the cards.
Then we had Magic which was complicated and I never really got into.
Then there was some short lived Magi card game or something.
Then there was Yugioh. I actually liked Yugioh as a game to begin with. Like the first sessions with Yugi and the related cards was cool, but then we went to the new people and their cards which I don't like as much. I still play from time to time on a Saturday or when a friend digs their deck out and ask to play. I was pretty leet at Yugioh, not gonna lie. I really enjoyed building decks. I built several decks for friends that places in official tournaments.

We had the same problem when Pokemon cards existed. People were getting scammed in trades and bawwing later. I was always good at scamming. But I didn't do much of that in Pokemon.
I still have all my cards. There are a FUCKTON.
Pokemon was and is definitely the most fun card game.
Then there was Digimon. Awesome cards. Not necessarily a fun card game, but the TV show was way better than Pokemon's shit. Not much to say about it. I have a lot of the cards, but nowhere near what I got in Pokemon cards.
Then there was Yu-Gi-Oh. I can proudly say I never spent a penny on a Yu-Gi-Oh card, nor have I ever watched the show. Some guy gave me a card for free - it was some turtle with an island on its back. I traded it for two cards, traded those for two cards each, and so on and so forth, massively expanding my card collection (scamming?). I now have a good 10 pages of cards that I got for free, from trading that single island turtle.
And I have no clue how to even play the game, lol.

I hate Yu-Gi-Oh, so I have no clue why the Hell you'd think I'd do that. =P
All my cards are the originals. I haven't bought and barely seen any of the new shit. I even have some of the original Japanese cards. I'll make a video of all my cards and put it on YouTube.

When I was in 7th grade I played Yu-gi-oh at school. I would duel other people and trade. I played Yu-gi-oh tell I was in 9th grade. I still have my cards just cause I never really wanted to give them up.
But I had like 3 major decks that would easily beat people.
One was like a dragon deck, the other was the magic deck with The Dark magician and The Dark Magician Girl, which had every single card in it a super rare or the rarest card. And the Last deck I had, had all the Exodia pieces to it.
@ Ksrocks333 What are some of the best Yu-Gi-Oh cards do you have? Please pm and we might make a deal

I just made a video of them all (almost). My memory card filled up at 222mb, which was - luckily - right at the finish. It didn't get my other two Ancient Mews or some of my first edition rocket cards.
But there's all my foreign cards, mislabeled Raichu (83/82), and prereleasd Misty's Seadra.

I'd have to say yu-gi-oh.
They were the easiest to learn and obtain, the fact that you could gamble with them is great too.

It'll be on YouTube. I'll link. It's 222mb, so it's still uploading.
Also, I have Charizard. Unless you mean Dark Charizard.

2000, lol. Lord I might have tat in one box. I didn't buy a lot though, people just gave me tons of them cause I liked them. I have a ton of cards that make little kiddies drool. Can you say Winged Dragon of Ra?
I've still got my pokemon cards too, this big ass like 5 lb book. I look at it fondly. Ah, best story. When pokemon cards hit and Charzard was the best thing on the face of the planet I pulled him in my very first pack and then kept him in the starter box in my room. Then one day my mother threw the box and Charzard out and I like flipped I mean ballistic. My little 8 year old mind was not able to understand how you could throw out a Charzard. I still laugh when I think about it.
Digimon was epic. The show was way better than pokemon. The cards were cooler too but I never figure out how to play the digimon game or pokemon it was obscenely complicated.
You don't know how to play yugioh? You simply have to know like 4 thing and read the text on the cards to play. Unlike pokemon and digimon where you had to memorize the rule book and know trig and calculus. D and D is simpler than pokemon cards I think.

Magic is the most fun one to play. But in terms of trading, pokemon hands down. Awesome shit.

Back then our obsession was Yu-Gi-Oh cards!
One of or teachers would even play with us during the last 10 minutes of class :] He was so awesome!
About a year ago, I began playing a new card game tho'. Its gameplay is actually rational. The game? Chaotic. [lawl] It's actually pretty fun once you get the pro cards.

had shit loads of yugioh cards, multiple of each god card. cousin stole them all from me one day. never saw em again. figured it was time to grow up anyway.
- 24 Feb. 2010 03:05am #26
My adult mind is not able to understand how you can throw out a card that was worth $300 at one point, and easily worth $100. I'd have bitchslapped my momma.
Pokemon was easy. It was a lot like the game. The new one has some shit like Pokemon Body or some shit that just looks confusing. I have no clue how to play it anymore. I remember using beads to keep track of damage. Awesome.

I wanted to, man.
Damage counters. The blue and yellow ones. Dude remember the first movie? Remember the Mew card? My uncle took me and my cousin and we couldn't figure out how we wold get the card since my uncle had ordered the tickets online, then half way to the theater he reach up to his visor and pulled out two cards and said "Choose your weapon." Had my prepubescent body and mind know what oragsim was that's what would have called it.

Wow, we use to have Hockey and Baseball cards, when trading cards were real?
Now 'trading cards' are just cards with ugly pictures and have a shitty game that goes along with them. Asians are slowly ruining everything american.

I loved collecting pokemon cards. I had a pikachu binder FULL of them I was so proud of it, then my mom made me sell it at a garage sale.
but I was a 14yr old with 50 bucks so I was happy. I still kinda miss them.
Actually, if it wasn't for the new cards being all gay and robotic pokemon and shit, I'd still try to collect.I am steady killin' fools.

BS, pokemon has been around for nearly as long as you've been alive, it just wasn't as mainstream in your area I guess. These things were a big hit where I live.
I have a plastic bag full of pokemon/magic/yu-gi-oh/harry potter cards that I've had ever since I was in my early teens. I rarely ever played the games, my friends just liked to dump whatever they thought to be uncool/out of fashion on me, and even back then I was aware of the value of a silly little card and how their value goes up over the years.
I really should dig them up and grab an up to date card value list.

I used to have a card value list (Beckett), but it was total BS. Every Jigglypuff card was listed at 4x the actual value. Obvious bias - someone had a crush on Jigglypuff.
But that was AGES ago. I doubt I still have that book. It was back when the cards were new. Hell, that book is probably worth some money now.
But I'd be interested in seeing if the card values ever made a recovery. I know they went down in value a while after they were released. I'm hoping they actually become worth something.
EDIT: Nope, looks like they're still worth crap.Last edited by GAMEchief; 24 Feb. 2010 at 01:01pm.

MY favorite cardgame was Duel Masters because it was simple...Problem is it didn't last to long and me and my friends were the only one to play it
