I'm really excited for this movie to come out, I think Johnny Depp is an amazing actor, and the graphics look absolutely stunning, I also checked out the soundtrack, and it's really good. Here's a link to the songs in the soundtrack: ALICE IN WONDERLAND Soundtrack Revealed - Collider.com
Is anyone else as excited as me for this movie? Do you think it will measure up to the original?

The soundtrack threw me off.
I don't really like that it's so mainstream but hopefully it impresses.
The cheshire cat looks incredible, though I'm kind of thinking this movie is more
about the madhatter than Alice, mainly because Johnny Depp is the Mad Hatter.
I have a feeling they picked some nobody for the role of Alice.I am steady killin' fools.

If Tim Berton does what he used to rather than play up the Johnny and tries to stay true to the spirit of the original book and Disney movie, it'll be awesome. Though it'd end up being so counter culture and full or references that no one under the age of 18 would get I doubt he'll do it. Also the 3D thing has me doubting, cause Burton would do cheezy 3D things for kick and giggles.

I can't wait for the movie to come out.
Anything with Johnny Depp has to be great!
- 19 Feb. 2010 05:33am #5
Tim makes pretty movies, but at time the plot suffers. I hope this adaptation/sequel wont make you go too nuts.
it's pretty cool that they didn't just remake the story, rather they're carrying on from it (set with an older alice when she returns tnderland).

I think Johnny Depp will be great in that movie
Simple is BEAUTIFUL!

It's actually a movie about Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to Alice in Wonderland. I assume they just named it Alice in Wonderland because most people probably aren't aware that it has a sequel.
That noted, I hope Humpty Dumpty is in it.

I'm not very excited for this one, I just have a feelings it's going to be like another charie and the chocolate factory. Still I might watch if someone else wanted to go, it's just not something I'd dish out money for by myself.
All hail kitty pig.

I donno I'm looking forward to seeing it, but still I just want the soundtrack...
Like many other people, I like Avril's song, so maybe I'll only listen to the songs and don't even see the film xD...

Sequel. The previews show the Mad Hatter saying, "Welcome back to Wonderland." and "Since you've been gone..."
I've never read Through the Looking Glass, just bits and pieces. So I'm not entirely sure if it at least tries to follow the storyline, or branches off on its own. The White Queen is in all the previews, and I believe she's in Through the Looking Glass, but not in Alice in Wonderland. So I can only hope it isn't a spin off.

The soundtrack sucks and the real life version seems like it sucks the animated one was WAY better

I think that I'll find the animated one to be way better. The effects and animation are just something you shouldn't try to replicate.
- 20 Feb. 2010 05:49pm #16
They're not replicating. They're making a sequel.
And I highly doubt it will be comparable to the original, animated version. That was one of the greatest movies of all time. It won't be as good, but it may still be good.

I'm pretty sure that its Burton's spinoff sequel. They show the red queen who should be as large as Alice and they do show the White Queen too, but Alice dresses in white which isn't correct. If they stay true then the whole thing is based in chess and the Hatter and the Hare shouldn't have returned.

Im actually kinda excited for this one...I love the look of it...I just hope its not all about the Mad Hatter...From the trailer it looks pretty nice though
- 20 Feb. 2010 09:56pm #19
Yeah, i think the fact that johnny depp is the mad hatter was a big deal. he's probably in the trailer so much because he's the biggest star in the movie. so it's understandable.

He is a good actor... Thats partially why I want to see it...
I really want to see it because, I hated the original with a fiery passion. I always have and always will...
I personally think that if they hired the right actors and tweaked the story a bit, that it could turn out to be a good movie though...

I've read Through the Looking Glass, very boring book, and not so much a sequel to Alice in Wonderland as it is just her going in a mirror and noticing things are backwards, hardly ever even talking to anyone.
I think he's mixing various elements of both books together, which should be reall good.
- 20 Feb. 2010 11:43pm #22
Like I said, I haven't read Through the Looking Glass, so I have no clue how similar it is to this movie. However, an ad I saw just today said it will contain a mixture of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. As for how off it is from the two (spin off or semi-related), I have no idea.

I think Tim Burton fucked the whole story and made it into some emo goth piece of shit but it could be good i just don't have high expectations for it.

I love Tim Burton movies though. Probably cuz he's insane. And I love his wife. There's something about her that's just creepy. All his movies are creepy. And I don't really care if Johnny Depp is in all his movies. Johnny Depp is a good actor. & he's totally bangin

I'm excited, since I like shiny things. It'll be pretty and shiny and awesome to look at. The story, well that's another matter. But if it's shiny, who cares?
- 22 Feb. 2010 02:49am #27
I'll be honest, the animated version of the original was such a stoner movie it seemed. No matter what you people say. And while this movie isn't exactly it, it's somewhat related and I just don't think they can recreate that magic.
