Shoot yourself please. Punk rock is terrible, no skill. It what you play when you can't play guitar and Linkin Park is so damned whinny. Then they had to go defile their horrid style of music by rapping. Punk is supposed to be loud and angry with strong lyrics yelled at the top of your lungs.
The other band you mention are basically metal which some how modern metal became heavy punk. Palm muting the e string and hammering it is not talent or cool.

Linkin Park and any thing that sounds like them or The Ramones.
The only decent punk bands ever are The Clash and The Sex Pistols, The Clash being the better of the two. The Clash used punk and the idea of playing badly on purpose as a statement. The conveyed a message that all music no matter how good or bad can convey a message and its not how you play but what you play. That if we all play like Van Halen then what's the point to playing.
They also invented ska basically.
The Sex Pistols were just f'in pissed off at the world and wanted to be in your face and show you want punk was about and they did it amazingly well.
British punk in general is better in my opinion. Its much more hard core.
