Which is supposed to be more helpful? I want your insight.
I have heard many different things towards this but I wanted to get your guys opinion before I made a final decision on what's best.
Is doing more reps better than doing more weight?

I would have to say reps will help you build more muscle. That "burning" sensation you feel in your muscles is your body resorting to a faster method of producing ATP, since the aerobic method isn't fast enough for activities that would build muscle. So in theory, the longer you're working the muscle the longer anaerobic production of ATP is taking place. Which would help build more muscle.
Look into cellular fermentation and anaerobic metabolism. It's a must know for anybody looking to lift weights properly. Once you now what's happening on a biological level it'll help you form a better routine.

I'm really rusty on cellular fermentation, so there's a good chance I've made a few factual errors, so if I have I apologize a head of time.Last edited by Elliot; 18 Feb. 2012 at 01:37am.
