Culinary school is making me gain a few extra pounds; so in addition to my normal workout routine, I'm balancing out my meals like I learned to do in nutrition. I noticed that the people at school use a hella lot of salt in most of their dishes. So I'm going to try out this 6 small portioned meals a day with my normal workouts to see if I get any results in 1 month. The thing is, I need some ideas on what to prepare. They have to be a small quantity, low-fat/low-sodium/low-sugar sort of things. So far I have my snacks throughout the day down (fruits & veggies with water only for these). I need to throw in my: Meats, Milk, Breads, etc, the rest of the day. I was thinking something like.. (each thing listed is a different meal)
Breakfast:
- Whole wheat toast with some sort of spread (cream cheese? ...Is that even healthy >.>and a small bowl of cereal. With a glass of fresh OJ
- Scrambled eggs with fresh tomatoes, peppers, and herbs for taste W/ OJ
- ???
Lunch:
-(Mon thru Thurs) Whatever I get that day at school. They are already small portions W/an Arnold Palmer or water
- (fri - sun) Plain Yogurt and granola with berries thrown in
- ???
Dinner:
- Grilled, skinless chicken with veggies on the side
- ???
Yea, I'm just lost on new recipe ideas. I want things that taste good, and are good for you. Please list a few for each so I can mix it up during the weeks.
