It's hard to find a lot of things using this one, as it rules out all common words. Like when i first came here yesterday, I was looking for what "thanks" and "rep" were, but I couldn't use the search engine because apparently "thanks" is too common of a word and "rep" is too short for the engine. Maybe just take out the common word thing and make it 2 instead of 3 characters?

Rep is obvious as is the Thanks button. And at any rate you could have easily posted in the JY and asked again. The JY is for that kind of stuff. There aren't many 2 - 3 letter words that are on the site that some one is gonna search for specifically, and thanks is a common word on the site, so its always going to show up. I think what you are asking for is less strict filters, but even then, people will be complaining about how it isn't precise enough. I would rather it be kept the way that it is right now since it is specific, at least when used the right way and precisely. So make a post in the Jy to find the answer to a commonly asked question, or recode the search feature because it isn't perfect? I think you know which option I choose.
