Alright, well one of the most popular sections of LG is the Junkyard, obvious knowledge.
Thing is, people coming in see us for exactly what our most busy section is, a junkyard. My suggestion is no where near the removal of the JY, but better yet, the 10 or 50 post requirement to view and/or post inside of it.
Makes us look shitty with one of the least important sections, as one of the most popular. People can't take a website that makes shitty jokes and stupidass sayings and what not seriously.
Putting a poll on this bitch.

JY be gone.

I voted Yes, but it should not be removed. Because LG is full of Spammers and/or Flamers. They put their shit on pretty much every thread ANYWAY so may as well have a forum designated for it. Does it look bad? Yes. Does it look professional to have a JY? Semi.

It does make Lg look bad that the most popular section is the Junk yard. But, if we put a minimum requirement than new people will post the "where's the", 'how do I", "why isn't" threads in the General discussion. The best fix to this is to get iTrader, and iCash re-enabled. That way it kick starts the Gaia section and trading section. We should also get rid of the less popular forums and replace them with new ones, like a hackintosh, and GPT forums. People cling to those forums like flys.

I don't really think it looks bad when you consider almost every website with something similar has the exact thing happen.
Gaia has the CB and GD.
Solia has the soap box.
Any forum based site where you have a forum specifically for nonsense is usually almost always the most popular.
So really I'm not seeing what the big deal is? I don't think the JY looks any less professional than gaiaonline section personally.
Plus if we had the junkyard hidden there wouldn't be any sign of activity on this site at all which is going to make us look even more dead and less appealing than we already do.
(Edit: This is just my personal opinion though. C: And it is a good suggestion.)
All hail kitty pig.

My point isn't that it makes us look shitty, it's the fact that it's a serious website(bullshit) that is trying to make income from Gaiaonline. If we copy their idea of Chatterbox, and ours is no where NEAR as popular as theirs, why would they come?
There is nothing wrong with the point you made, I'm just saying, we look very unevolved with very few people posting, let alone with most posts in the JY.

I don't really think it's an over all issue with that, I think it has do more with our appearance.
The forum it's self looks very basic because, to be honest, it is a very basic forum.
Just by the way it looks it comes off unprofessional, and just like every other "Gaia hacking site".
I think when the new site is updated it will make us look more "legit" because it's not just some shitty forum.
Amazingly people loose interest in something that isn't appealing to the eye.
That's why you see sites like gaia try and update their look more often (even if they fail) to make it seem more appealing to the eye.
Because as awesome as a website is, there really need to be that hook that grabs you and the over all way a site looks really gives the first impression.
From what I've seen it looks pretty amazing at least graphics wise, though I haven't tested it or anything.
I think for now it's really a matter of playing the waiting game and seeing what we can do to keep this website alive until that time comes.
Which seems to be harder than one would expect. Lol
@Torian: Thank you appreciate the agreement.
All hail kitty pig.

No.
Fuck no.
The shitter's gone, and know the JunkYard? That feels bad, man.
The junkyard is seen as a place where discussion can be held without the so called "rules". Double posting and spamming may not add to the conversation, but it is a vital part of LG's user base. Cut the Junkyard out and I can assure that spam would be popping up everywhere. It's the trashcan that contains all the shit that doesn't belong in the other forums, but still apply to a members interest in some way or another. People need a place to go to when they can't find an appropiate spot for it, and the Junkyard applies to that. Of course it will be the most popular spot, there are nor requirements for it. It's just straight discussion, spam, and useless threads. It's also where alot of our current members post, take that away and shit tanks so fast it's not even funny.
So all in all: No.

People will almost always come for Gaiaonline.
They will simply run across the Junkyard and possibly begin posting in it.
I doubt someone who came for Gaiaonline would leave because of the Junkyard.
This is a good idea when you give it about 5 seconds thought.
