An idea i had is if people grave dig, and/or spam the thread, they should be banned for a certain amount of time or not allowed to post for a certain amount of time. Maybe like 48hours or something and it will go up the more they break the rules and eventually end up being banned. My idea is a pop-up will come up on there screen explaining that they where grave digging or spamming and/or any rules they broke and it's against the LG rules also saying the amount of time they are banned. This could not only be used for new members but for old members (that sometime also break the rules of LG).
Just an idea so there isn't as much banning happening and to give people are few chances to read over the rules and not make the same mistake twice.
Just wondering what was you opinion?

I like the system we have now. Not to mention, a lot of people accidentally gravedig as well, so penalizing them for a complete accident seems pretty irrational.

Gravedigging shouldn't be against the rules in the first place. Honestly, there is literally no reason for gravedigging to be a bad thing. If someone spams in an old topic, that counts as spam, not gravedagging, and should be punished as such. If someone makes a post worth reading in a topic that just so happens to be old (as opposed to making a new topic about the exact same thing), there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and it shouldn't result in punishment.
Of course spammers get banned. That is the current system. I'm not sure what you're suggesting. Ban more people? Whenever you see a spam post, click the Report Post icon. If that user accumulates enough reports, they'll be banned. It's a simple and effective system that LG, and most sites, have been using.
Really, everything you said in your post, is already being done and is established as the vBulletin default way of banning people.

Ok, lets see if this can be made Barney Style.
Gravedigging: Posting of spam into an old thread that has died.
Spamming: Posting offtopic, incoherently or other wise ignorant shit.
One exists without the other while the other requires the other to exist.
Spamming is against the rules, so it is technically spam that causes gravedigging, not the post itself. Gravedigging requires spam, or for it to not be constructive to the conversation at all.
At any rate, bans come without warnings ouside of infractions/warnings. A member can actually be instantly banned for any reason without notice, or with complete merit to the ban.
If you want banning to get changed, you went about it the right way, but lets face it, if its not broken dont try to fix it.Voted Hottest Male Member

The system we have now is good enough...Although i do like the "Explanation of Banning" Idea

The system already explains why you're banned.
Any time you ban someone, it asks you input a reason. That person then sees said reason whenever they visit.

That already exists, its called a "Temp Ban"...
LG has done this since they went down "to be more forgiving"...
The mods can choose how long you are banned for, as far as I know...
Kinda Unnecessary... You should receive the reason... If not just contact an admin / mod...
Umm... There isn't much banning going on...
Some noobs here and there... And some 1.0 members are getting Temp Bans...
