Hey I have an idea / business plan for creating a strong online EDM project, I'm just looking to put together the right crew of independent contractors. I know the crew is within this community, and I know I need to make amends before beginning to build any trust with any of you again, but I'm going to, and we'll move forward from there.
Shoot me a message with a brief resume and we'll talk <3 PLUR guys.

Looking to hire freelance programmer for online EDM project.

A tip, the crew more then likely isn't in this community :p And those who actually could do the work probably wouldn't do it for the rates that are most often offered within these sort of threads. Have you tried a website like Freelancer?

I have but I don't like the mindset of the majority of people on Freelancer, and it would take me far to long to reach out to them.
I owe you like $35-$45 for some BS in the past by the way, I'll get that to you after this weekend.
And you don't know what rates are offered, nor the budget of the project I have in mind.

Feel free to post more details
I doubt anybody would be willing to send through a resume for a job they know nothing about. As for the question of your rates, anyone who scams tiny amounts for online currency probably doesn't have the budget to commission a proper web application (particularly if you're expecting rates competitive to what you'll be offered in developing nations like India). You're welcome to prove me wrong though.
I'll reiterate my original warning though, be careful who you hire. Often when I've inherited a project where the owners have originally commissioned it cheaply online, you're almost always presented with a jumble of spaghetti code that isn't worth the hard drive space it was saved on.

I was scamming and hacking before I turned 18, because I was bored, and it was entertaining, not because I was desperate for money in the least. I've inherited a semi-decent trust-fund which will allow me to start up a production / entertainment company in the US. It's an EDM project focused on organizing events, promoting artists, and capturing memories. The website I'm looking to establish will be similar to the way Electronic Music | EDM | DJ Downloads | Raves | Dance Music DJs is structured, just with a cleaner, more organized perspective. I was potentially going to invest with them until they asked me invest over half of my net-worth, and then I decided it'd be best to start up my own project. I have the support of many well respected DJ's in the Bay area scene, as well as every local crew.
For me this project is more-so about creating the memories that people want captured, over making money, or anything else. However I have a strong executive manager, with VERY good business ethics who doesn't let me make many bad investments.
I mainly need a custom event organization program, and basic direction for installation and maintenance, I can figure things out from there. Then beyond that I'd just need an on-call programmer to take care of whatever comes up for future site development.
Starting rates $30 / hr. with room for improvement upon improvement of the company.
You don't really need trry about me being careful, an ex threat is aware of other threats.
Only real difference between my project and the untz is that I'll be implicating grey hat techniques for promotion instead of blackhat techniques strictly like they've had to do due to limited budget.Last edited by RaveHi; 16 Apr. 2013 at 08:14am.

First off, you don't really seem to have any actual plan in mind here. You never actually even mention what skills or languages the programmer would be required to have knowledge of which makes me doubt you even know what you'd need. You just say you want programmers, yet you never mention fields, what kind of projects would be worked on, what type of hours would be required, why they should take a risk on you, or anything besides a fairly half assed proposition.
You want people to send you a resume, yet you never mention your qualifications. Why should someone work for you, what would you be able to offer them, what makes you stand out from the thousands of others trying to do the same thing. When contracting someone it is just as important to market yourself to them as it is for them to market themselves to you. So yeah, just saying you don't really come off as someone that others would be confident to be contracted under.Last edited by Tree; 16 Apr. 2013 at 04:51pm.

Then so be it, I have a 25 page business plan written out, I was just trying to find someone interested in an online EDM project within this community. I'm not a programmer, and don't even know what would be involved in developing said program. I'll figure it out in due time though, the offer still stands for any interested.
