Help me, LG!

So, I've never taken a physics class before in my life.

I need to determine the launch angle and velocity of an object.

Is there an equation for this?

What I have: The hoop height is 98 inches. We're aiming above it by a foot, so 110 inches. The air resistance is just 1.0, once we get actual data we're going to change it. I just need the equation to determine angle and velocity based on the height of what you're aiming at and the distance away from it.

If anyone could help, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I really need an answer to this question.

The reason I need to do all this is because (as a mini-test) the president of my robotics club said I had to program a function for our pneumatic gun and have it done in 3 days. I just started programming C++ less than 2 weeks ago.
